As part of Housing and Homelessness Services, the role contributes to the department's vision for a fair and sustainable housing system and to services that make a real difference for Queenslanders.Based in Robina, this is a permanent flexible full-time opportunity. The role works across a range of settings, including in person, by telephone, through correspondence, in the field and through outreach services in the community.In this role, the successful applicant will:- Respond appropriately and sensitively to people experiencing homelessness or preparing to transition from supported accommodation, with a focus on understanding individual housing needs.- Approve high and very high need social housing applications and transfers, and support quality assurance of application assessments.- Build effective relationships with stakeholders to improve customer outcomes and processes, and manage formal internal and external complaints to support resolution.- Supervise team activities and exercise delegation as required,



including monitoring workload, addressing operational issues and reporting.- Work primarily in the field, including meeting with customers who may be rough sleeping, in conditions that can be changeable and may require sound judgement, vigilance and risk management.- Help maintain a strong workplace safety culture by ensuring workplace health and safety practices are part of day-to-day operations.This role would suit someone who builds solid relationships, communicates clearly and brings sound judgement to complex situations. It offers the opportunity to deliver respectful, culturally responsive services that support better outcomes for people and communities.Mandatory requirements:Class C driver's licence.Travel will be required, including overnight travel.Applications to remain current for 12 months.
