About the Company
Looking for a Dental Hygienist or Oral Health Therapist position that gives you more time for the people and commitments that matter most?
Our client is a welcoming, established dental practice in Brisbane's inner-city area, offering an excellent opportunity for a clinician seeking rewarding part-time work without sacrificing family time.
The practice is known for its friendly, patient-focused approach and strong commitment to preventive dentistry, periodontal care and patient education.
With an experienced Dentist and an established hygiene program, you'll be part of a supportive clinical environment that values continuity of care, teamwork and positive patient experiences.
Whether you're balancing school commitments, returning to clinical work or simply looking to reduce your working week, this opportunity offers a refreshing combination of flexibility and professional satisfaction.
About the Position Our client is looking for a friendly and compassionate Dental Hygienist or Oral Health Therapist to join our client's team for 2–3 days per week.
All shifts fall between Monday and Friday, meaning your weekends remain completely free.
You'll step into an existing hygiene position, taking over regular appointments and continuing the care of an established patient base.
The practice currently operates its hygiene program across five weekdays, supported by a Dentist and fellow Hygienists, ensuring a collaborative environment for the successful candidate.
Employment will initially commence on a casual basis, with the intention of progressing to a permanent arrangement once both parties are confident it's the right long-term fit.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing routine dental hygiene appointments, including scaling, polishing and preventive treatments.
- Assessing gum health and delivering periodontal maintenance care.
- Performing periodontal charting and identifying oral health concerns.
- Providing fluoride treatments and fissure sealants within your scope of practice.
- Educating patients on oral hygiene, gum disease prevention and effective home-care routines.
- Developing long-term relationships with returning patients and their families.
- Supporting preventive recall and periodontal maintenance programs.
- Assisting with ongoing hygiene care for restorative and cosmetic dentistry patients.
- Maintaining thorough patient records and excellent infection control standards.
- Working closely with the Dentist and fellow Hygienists to create a welcoming patient experience.
Key Requirements
- Recognised qualification in Dental Hygiene or Oral Health Therapy.
- Current registration with AHPRA through the Dental Board of Australia.
- Sound clinical skills in preventive dentistry and periodontal care.
- A warm, approachable personality and strong communication skills.
- Confidence managing hygiene appointments and patient education.
- Commitment to high-quality patient care and clinical professionalism.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a supportive team.
- Availability for 2–3 weekdays per week.
- Clinicians seeking a sustainable long-term part-time position are encouraged to apply.

- Supportive colleagues: Work alongside an experienced Dentist and fellow dental hygiene professionals.
- Rewarding clinical focus: Deliver preventive and periodontal care that makes a lasting difference to patient health.

Enjoy More Time Outside Work With only 2–3 working days per week, this position provides an excellent opportunity to maintain your clinical career while leaving more time for life outside the practice.
Whether you're managing school pickups, supporting family commitments, studying or simply wanting greater flexibility during the week, the roster offers room for your personal priorities.
Brisbane's warm climate, parklands, riverside walks and family-friendly attractions also provide plenty of ways to enjoy your days off.
