An opportunity has become available for an experienced Financial Accountant to join a large, well-established organisation with a strong presence in Newcastle & Hunter.
Working within a collaborative finance team, this position offers a broad mix of financial reporting, month-end responsibilities and opportunities to contribute to improvements in financial processes.
We are looking for someone who enjoys getting into the detail, takes ownership of their work and is comfortable working within a busy, commercially focused environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparation of monthly financial reports and supporting schedules.
- Managing month-end processes, including journals, accruals and reconciliations.
- Maintaining the integrity and accuracy of financial records.
- Preparing balance sheet reconciliations and investigating variances.
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis activities.
- Assisting with statutory reporting, audit requirements and compliance.
- Working closely with internal stakeholders to provide accurate financial information.
- Identifying opportunities to improve reporting processes and financial controls.
About You
- Previous experience in a Financial Accountant or similar accounting role.
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Finance.
- CA/CPA qualifications or progress towards completion.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and attention to detail.
- Experience working with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
- The ability to manage competing priorities and meet reporting deadlines.
- A practical, collaborative approach and confidence communicating with stakeholders.
