About the role

We’re seeking an experienced and passionate Make Up professional to join our team as a temporary part-time Teacher of Make Up (0.4 FTE, 14 hours per week) to cover a period of paternity leave until October 2027.

Based at Ultimo campus, you will inspire and support students to develop the practical skills, industry knowledge and confidence needed for a successful career in the beauty and make up industry. As a professional educator, you will deliver engaging learning experiences, assess student progress, and create an inclusive learning environment that helps students achieve their goals. Working collaboratively with colleagues and industry,



you will contribute to high-quality training that is current, relevant and responsive to industry needs.

About You

You are a skilled Make Up industry professional with current vocational expertise, relevant qualifications and a genuine passion for sharing your knowledge with others. You bring strong communication and organisational skills, a commitment to delivering exceptional student experiences, and the ability to facilitate learning in an adult education environment.

To be successful in the role, you will:

1. Hold appropriate subject knowledge and skills, and at minimum hold a Certificate III in Make Up Services or equivalent qualification.
2. Have a minimum of three years post-qualification industry experience relevant to your qualifications, gained no longer than five years previously.
3. Hold evidence of the required teaching qualification to deliver Vocational Education and Training (VET). See the candidate support document here for details.
4. Be prepared to develop and maintain your VET knowledge and skills as well as your industry currency, and trainer/assessor competence.
