About the Role

Simpatico People are proud to assist in Australia's power generation, transmission, and distribution network infrastructure upgrades.

Our clients, key players in high-voltage transmission infrastructure, are seeking experienced Transmission Tower and Substation Gantry Assembly and Erection Riggers to support major high-voltage transmission line projects across Australia.

Working alongside established construction crews, you'll be involved in the assembly, installation and erection of lattice steel transmission towers, substation gantry structures and associated high-voltage infrastructure.

We're looking for skilled riggers who understand the demands of working on major transmission and substation projects, take pride in their workmanship, and maintain a strong commitment to safety.

Key Responsibilities

- Assemble and erect lattice steel transmission towers and substation gantry structures.

- Perform structural steel assembly, installation and erection works in accordance with construction drawings and specifications.

- Undertake rigging and dogging activities, including crane lifts, load control and positioning of structural components.

- Install and secure structural steel members, bracing, crossarms and associated components.

- Work safely at heights using appropriate fall protection and access equipment.





- Assist with the installation of substation support structures and associated steelwork.

- Carry out tower and gantry modifications, dismantling and maintenance where required.

- Conduct pre-start inspections, hazard assessments and participate in toolbox talks.

- Work collaboratively with supervisors, crane operators, construction crews and other site personnel.

- Ensure all works comply with site safety, quality and environmental requirements.

Essential Requirements

- Proven experience in transmission tower assembly and erection and/or substation gantry erection and/or heavy industry structural steel.

- High Risk Work Licence – Rigging (RB, RI or RA), appropriate to the work being undertaken.

- Current Working at Heights certification.

- White Card (Construction Induction).

- Ability to read and interpret structural assembly drawings and follow erection procedures.

- Experience working with cranes, lifting equipment and structural steel components.

- Solid understanding of safe lifting practices and working at heights.

- Ability to pass pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screening.

- Strong safety awareness and ability to work effectively within a team.

Highly Regarded

- Experience on 132kV, 275kV, 330kV or 500kV transmission and substation projects.

- Experience erecting substation gantries,



busbar support structures and associated structural steelwork.

- Intermediate or Advanced Rigging (RI / RA).

- Dogging (DG) High Risk Work Licence.

- EWP and Telehandler tickets.

- Tower Rescue
- Current Medical, and First Aid & CPR certification.

- HR or MR Driver's Licence.

- Previous experience working on large-scale infrastructure projects in regional or remote locations.

- FIFO / DIDO experience.
