Prepare clean minibus and camping gear rental for road trips

We’re looking for someone who can do an 'all-rounder' job for Share Bus (preparing minibus for road trips, and handing over to groups). It's about 15 hours work over 5 days (mostly to be completed flexibly within your own schedule), with the potential for more work in future. Suit student, backpacker or someone looking for extra casual work in addition to something else.

These are the dates we need someone for (more dates available later):

a) Starting ASAP (i.e. 1/10) (flexible schedule ~15) compulsory 2.5hrs morning 06/10

b) 13th -15th of October (15 hours), 2.5 hours morning 16/10

ABOUT US:

We organise 'shared rental roadtrips' for backpackers. We rent our minibus and fully equipped trailer (all the camping equipment needed!) to groups of up to 12 backpackers (strangers!).We put them on one-way road trips (i.e. Perth to Broome; Broome to Perth) and give them a guidebook to help out. Basically, it works out they get everything they need, a group of people to travel with, and it's pretty affordable. We're actually based in Perth and need people from other cities to help us out from time to time, as we are sending our minibus around Australia to 'follow the sun'!

ABOUT THE JOB:

You will basically be responsible for picking up the bus, getting the bus ready for the next trip, and then sending the group off!

Your main tasks will be

- Checking the bus, keys at rental storage facilty

- Checking key items function well (tents, poles, stoves, mattresses etc)





- Doing a stocktake of the equipment in the trailer (this will take a few hours)

-Taking the minibus and/or trailer to a mechanic for a service if required

- Replacing (shopping for) any damaged/missing equipment identified through the stocktake

- Cleaning anything the arriving group didn't (but they should clean it themselves)

- Shopping for a few items at Woolies i.e. cleaning stuff, toilet paper etc.

- Check the oil/coolant/tyre pressure of the minibus

- Printing a bunch of documents supplied to you

- 'Inducting' the new group, getting them to sign contracts, explaining some equipment to them and giving them some advice

- Uploading receipts to an app

You will do the stocktake spreadsheet and work checklist on our online form/app. We communicate with the groups of backpackers on WhatsApp.

The job is really well defined and we have checklists for the tasks. Every now and then an unexpected task may pop up though!

Handover will be at a hostel.

ABOUT YOU

- 21 or over (due to insurance on the minibus)

- Attention to detail

- Can relate to backpackers!

- Good Communication

- Full Drivers License

- Can work unsupervised and solve problems alone: yet totally ok about asking for help if you need to

- Not essential but: some basic mechanical knowledge, experience using a trailer, experience camping.
