About the role
You'll be the person who helps make important moments possible for Martu people. By bringing together the travel and logistics, people and practical details behind every meeting, AGM and trip to Country, you'll help Elders, Directors, members and colleagues feel welcomed, supported and able to focus on what matters. You will manage the fleet and other related equipment and assets.
You’ll join a close-knit and supportive Operations Manager and Team that shares information, steps in for each other and works together when plans change. Your contribution will be noticed, valued and connected to the outcomes we achieve for Community and Country.
Key responsibilities
- Effective management and maintenance of all travel related venue hire arrangements, equipment and assets. i.e. vehicles, gazebos, tables, chairs, ICT equipment and more...
- Book flights, accommodation, hire cars and transport for Directors, committee members and staff
- Plan on-Country meetings, workshops and AGMs: venues, catering, accommodation and merchandise
- Set up and support meetings at our Perth office
- Keep the organisation's calendar, vehicle records and travel card reconciliations in good order
- Assist with reception, office administration and member enquiries
- Support the operations team and broader organisation to deliver successful outcomes to all stakeholders
About you
- Experience organising travel, events or busy schedules, whether in events, hospitality, travel, school or community administration, or rostering
- You juggle lots of moving parts, remain focused on solutions at all times and stay calm when the pressure is on and plans change
- You treat Elders, Directors and members with respect and care
- You are a problem solver who thrives on being critical to all stakeholders' success and pitches in wherever needed
- Confident with Microsoft Office and on the phone
- A current driver's licence (essential)
- Happy to run around and to travel to Wiluna a few times a year for our AGM and Special General Meetings (SGMs)
- You are dependable, practical and generous with your support
- You build relationships easily, share information and enjoy being part of a team where people step in for each other and work together for Community
You'll thrive here if…
- you love the buzz of a well-run event, field trip or meeting
- you think on your feet when plans change and build strong networks of support as you go
- you enjoy being part of a close team that communicates openly, shares the busy days and celebrates what is achieved together for Community
- you take ownership, initiative, possess strong common sense, and are creative, with a can-do attitude!
- you are energised by helping others and finding ways to get the job done every time!
- you bring a positive energy into every day and especially on the busy days - Your glass is always half-full
This probably isn't the role for you if…
· you want the same tasks at the same desk every day
· you are not looking to be challenged by the limitations of access to services in remote communities; or
· you're looking for a freight or supply chain logistics role
You don’t need to tick every box. If you care about people, enjoy being someone others can rely on and want your work to contribute to Community and Country, we’d love to hear from you.

Salary packaging: keep more of what you earn
As an eligible not-for-profit employee, you can pay for everyday costs from your pre-tax salary. You pay less income tax, so more of your pay stays in your bank account every pay day.
What you can package:
- Living expenses, up to $15,900 per year: rent, mortgage repayments, bills and other everyday costs.
- Meal entertainment and venue hire, up to a further $2,650 per year: dining out, holiday accommodation and venue hire.
- Benefits with no cap: work-related items such as laptops, tablets and phones, self-education, and additional super contributions (subject to the concessional contributions cap).
What it could mean for you: depending on your salary, packaging the full amounts could leave many employees roughly $2,700 to $5,000 a year better off. *
*Estimate only. Your result depends on your income, packaging provider fees and personal circumstances, and packaging may affect some income-tested payments and obligations. We recommend seeking independent financial advice.
