About the role

This is a diverse, hands-on position combining customer service, checkout operations, inventory management, stock replenishment, cleaning, animal husbandry and general store operations. You'll play an important role in ensuring our store runs smoothly, our customers receive exceptional service, our animals are properly cared for and our retail environment is maintained to the highest possible standard.

Key responsibilities

- Providing exceptional customer service in a friendly, professional and welcoming manner
- Operating our point-of-sale system and processing purchases accurately and efficiently
- Handling cash, EFTPOS and other payment methods
- Assisting customers with general enquiries and directing specialist questions to experienced staff
- Receiving and unpacking stock deliveries
- Replenishing shelves and displays throughout the day
- Monitoring stock levels and identifying products requiring replenishment
- General daily cleaning throughout the store including sweeping, vacuuming, mopping and maintaining floors
- Cleaning and maintaining reptile displays and animal care areas
- Assisting with daily feeding and watering routines and cleaning reptile enclosures
