About the opportunity
Our client is a well-established, privately owned national business in the financial services sector, with deep roots in Perth. Through decades of growth, it has held on to what matters: real relationships with clients, partners and its own people. Its values centre on taking responsibility, honesty, being human, finding a way, and continuously improving.
Right now, our client is in the middle of a genuine transformation. Two parts of the business have historically run on separate paths, each with its own policies, processes and ways of working. Now the question is how to bring everyone on one people journey. The executive team has just aligned on a shared purpose, values and behaviours, which will be the “true north” for everything that follows.
The next steps are a single approach to performance, recognition, flexibility and recruitment, and a lot of meaningful change work to land it well.
There’s a cultural shift happening too. People leadership has often been handed over to HR. Our client wants to change that by building real capability and confidence in its leaders. That’s the heart of this role.
About the Role
This is a hands-on generalist role focused on coaching leaders and leading culture and change. You’ll work closely with the Head of Culture and People Strategy, who leads the broader transformation, and you’ll have space to lead initiatives where your strengths and interests lie.
What you’ll spend your time on:
- Bringing the organisation’s behaviours framework to life in team conversations and in how leaders lead day to day
- Coaching and constructively challenging leaders so they own their people leadership with confidence
- Helping bring two ways of working together into one: aligning people practices like performance, reward and recognition, and flexible work
- Supporting the people side of change, so employees understand what’s happening and have a genuine voice in it
- Managing employee relations matters from start to finish with fairness and care (anything highly complex goes to specialist support)
- Using employee feedback and workforce data to spot patterns early and turn them into practical recommendations
The human we’re looking for
You’re emotionally intelligent and self-aware. You build trust by being honest and reliable. You see your job as “I’m here to support you,” and you’re willing to say the hard thing when it matters.
You’ll also bring:
- Experience partnering with, coaching and influencing leaders on people, culture and performance matters
- Experience supporting culture, values or change initiatives, ideally through a period of integration or transformation
- Confidence managing ER matters end to end, with sound judgement and solid knowledge of Australian employment obligations
- Comfort using data and employee insight to shape your advice
- Experience with co-design or human-centred approaches is a real plus
