Job Description
Own and maintain CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or AWS CodePipeline) for build, test, and deployment across middleware, microservices, and front-end applications.
·Manage and evolve AWS infrastructure supporting the platform, including API Gateway, Lambda, SQS, ECS/EKS, S3, and IAM.
·Own Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform, ensuring environments (dev, staging, UAT, production) remain consistent, version-controlled, and reproducible.
·Support production deployments and emergency hotfix releases, coordinating closely with the Senior Full Stack Engineer (L3 Support) during critical fixes.
·Own monitoring, logging, and alerting (e.g., CloudWatch, Datadog, or equivalent) to proactively detect issues before they affect users.
·Manage the containerisation strategy (Docker, Kubernetes) for microservices deployed under the contract.
·Provide infrastructure-level diagnostics, scaling, and rollback support during major incidents, working alongside the Service Manager and L3 Support Engineer as incident commander.
·Implement and maintain infrastructure security best practices — secrets management, network/VPC security, and least-privilege IAM policies.
·Support capacity planning and cost optimisation for AWS infrastructure supporting the JetSMART platform.
·Own backup and disaster recovery procedures, and maintain up-to-date infrastructure runbooks.
·Automate recurring operational tasks (deployments, environment provisioning, health checks) to reduce manual toil.
·Participate in the on-call rotation as the primary contact for infrastructure and deployment-related incidents.
·Contribute to release planning from an infrastructure and deployment-readiness perspective.
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
·Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
·4–5+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability, or Infrastructure Engineering roles, ideally supporting live production systems under SLA.
·Strong hands-on experience with AWS services, including API Gateway, Lambda, SQS, ECS/EKS, S3, IAM, and CloudWatch.
·Proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code, particularly Terraform, and configuration management practices.
·Solid experience with CI/CD tooling (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or AWS CodePipeline) for automated build, test, and deployment.
·Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes for containerised microservices environments.
·Experience with monitoring and observability tooling (CloudWatch, Datadog, ELK, or Prometheus/Grafana).
·Scripting proficiency (Bash, Python, or similar) for automation and tooling.
·Solid understanding of networking, VPC design, security groups, and IAM policy management.
·Experience supporting Node.js-based microservices/middleware environments in production.
·Proficient with Git-based version control and release/branching strategies.
Preferred Qualifications:
·AWS certification (e.g., Solutions Architect Associate, DevOps Engineer Professional).
·Experience with message queue systems (SQS, RabbitMQ, or Kafka).
·Prior experience in the airline, travel, or e-commerce domain.
·Experience working within a client-facing managed services/support contract.
·Exposure to SRE practices such as SLOs, error budgets, and incident post-mortems.
