Casual Chef | Appin Hotel | Monday & Tuesday Availability Essential

Appin Hotel is looking for an experienced Casual Chef to join our kitchen team.

We’re after someone confident, reliable and capable of working independently when required. This role would suit a chef who enjoys being trusted to run a service, stay organised and take ownership of their section and kitchen standards.

Monday and Tuesday availability is essential, with the opportunity for additional shifts depending on business needs and availability.

At times, you may be required to operate the kitchen on your own, so previous experience in a fast-paced pub, bistro or similar hospitality environment is essential.

About the role

Your responsibilities will include:

- Preparing and cooking meals to a consistent standard
- Managing service confidently and efficiently
- Working independently when required
- Maintaining presentation, portion and quality standards
- Completing food preparation and mise en place
- Following food safety, hygiene and cleaning procedures
- Managing stock and minimising wastage
- Keeping the kitchen organised throughout service
- Communicating with Front of House and the wider venue team
- Assisting with ordering and kitchen organisation where required

About you





We are looking for someone who:

- Has proven commercial kitchen experience
- Is confident running a service independently
- Is reliable and turns up ready to work
- Can work calmly and efficiently under pressure
- Takes pride in food quality and presentation
- Is organised and able to manage their own workload
- Understands food safety and kitchen compliance
- Is available every Monday and Tuesday
- Is adaptable to pick up additional shifts when available
- Has strong communication skills and a positive team attitude

Pub or bistro experience will be highly regarded.
