Fruit & Vegetable Packaging Industry - Northern Adelaide & Market Garden Region Deliveries

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Truck Driver / Forklift Operator to join our team within the fruit and vegetable packaging industry.

This is a hands-on role responsible for completing deliveries throughout Adelaide's northern areas and surrounding market garden region to our customers, while also assisting with the loading and unloading of vehicles and general warehouse duties when required.

The position offers a minimum of approximately 28-30 hours per week during the quieter winter season, with extended hours and plenty of overtime available during our busy summer/peak season.

Job Details:

- Hourly Rate: Starting $34.79 (per Transport Award),(Penalty & Overtime Rates apply)

- Seasonal Hours:
- Off-season (Jul–Oct): ~28-38 hrs/week, 7:00 AM–3:00 PM.
- In-season (Oct-Jul): ~50–65 hrs/week, 6:00 AM–6:00 PM.
- Weekends: Rotational Saturdays year-round.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

- Complete daily deliveries throughout Adelaide's northern areas and surrounding market garden region to customers in a safe and professional manner.
- Load and unload trucks using a forklift and manual handling where required.
- Ensure all customer orders and deliveries are accurate and accounted for before leaving the site.
- Check delivery paperwork and ensure products are delivered to the correct customer and location.
- Secure loads correctly and ensure products are transported safely.
- Complete pre-start vehicle and forklift checks.
- Maintain trucks, forklifts and work areas in a clean and tidy condition.
- Assist with warehouse duties, order preparation and general site duties when deliveries are completed.
- Communicate with customers and team members in a professional manner.
- Report any vehicle, forklift, load or delivery issues to the appropriate supervisor.
- Follow company procedures and all relevant Work Health & Safety requirements.
- Work efficiently during high-volume periods and assist the wider team as required.





Skills & Experience

- Previous experience as a truck driver, preferably completing local delivery or multi-drop experience, ideally throughout Adelaide's northern areas and surrounding market garden region.
- Previous forklift operating experience.
- Experience safely loading and unloading trucks.
- Good knowledge of Adelaide's northern suburbs, market garden region and surrounding areas.
- Good time-management and organisational skills.
- The ability to work independently and manage a daily delivery schedule.
- Valuable communication and customer service skills.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A good understanding of load restraint and safe manual handling practices.
- The ability to work in a fast-paced environment, particularly during our peak season.
- A reliable, punctual and flexible approach to work.

Mandatory Requirements

Applicants must have:

- A current MR (Medium Rigid) driver's licence or higher.
- A current High Risk Work Licence - Forklift (LF).
- Previous truck driving experience.
- Previous forklift operating experience.
- The physical ability to safely complete loading, unloading and general manual handling duties.
- Availability to work extended hours during our peak summer season.
- Availability for Saturday work when required.
- A strong commitment to workplace safety.
- A reliable means of getting to and from work.

Work Environment

This is a practical, hands-on position working across both transport and warehouse operations within the fruit and vegetable packaging industry. The role involves:

- Driving throughout Adelaide's northern areas, market garden region and surrounding areas.




- Regularly entering and exiting delivery vehicles.
- Forklift operation.
- Loading and unloading customer orders.
- Manual handling.
- Working both indoors and outdoors.
- Working in varying weather conditions.
- Working around trucks, forklifts and other warehouse equipment.
- Working within a fast-paced environment during peak seasonal periods.

Hours & Seasonal Requirements

This position operates within a seasonal industry, so working hours will vary throughout the year.

Winter / Quieter Season: Approximately 28-35 hours per week, depending on operational requirements.

Summer / Peak Season: Significantly increased hours are available, including overtime and extended shifts.

Normal operating hours generally fall between approximately 7:00am and 5:00pm, with actual start and finish times varying depending on deliveries, workload and seasonal requirements.

Saturday work is required when needed, particularly during busy periods. Applicants must be flexible with their working hours and understand that the summer peak season can involve longer working days and additional hours.
