Maths Tutor – Senior Methods & Specialist (Casual)

Australian Tuition works one-on-one with students across Brisbane, in their homes and online. We have more demand for senior maths than we can currently cover, particularly weekday afternoons, and we’re hiring tutors who are solid in Maths Methods and Specialist Maths.

The work

- One-on-one, in the student’s home or online
- Mostly Years 10–12, Maths Methods and Specialist Maths
- Weekly, ongoing, through the school year
- A short written note to the parent after each session — template provided, takes two minutes
- You choose your availability and how many students you take

We especially need

- Weekday afternoons, 3pm–6pm — this is when most families want sessions and when we’re short
- Tutors living on Brisbane’s eastside and southside — Carindale, Mount Gravatt, Holland Park, Wishart, Mansfield, Coorparoo, Sunnybank and nearby

You’ll suit this if you are

- A university student or graduate in maths, engineering, physics, science or a related degree, and you scored highly in Maths Methods and/or Specialist Maths in Year 12, or

- A registered Queensland teacher

You need to be reliable, punctual, and able to explain a concept more than one way when the first way doesn’t land.

Requirements

- Blue Card (Working with Children Check), or willing to obtain — we’ll guide you
- Own transport for in-home sessions, or a quiet space and reliable internet for online
- Available at least two weekday afternoons a week
- Living in Brisbane with valid Australian work rights

Please include in your application

- Your Year 12 results in Maths Methods and Specialist Maths (and your ATAR or OP). Registered teachers — your QCT number instead.
- What you’re studying, where, and what year you’re in
- Your suburb and how far you’ll travel
- Which weekday afternoons you’re free
- Blue Card status

Applications without Year 12 maths results or a QCT number won’t be progressed. It’s the main thing we assess, so put it at the top.

Pay: $50.00 per hour
