POSITION PURPOSE

Manage the full day-to-day operations and commercial performance of a retail business in Exmouth, including staff leadership, customer service, stock control, financial oversight and compliance. This is a genuine, hands-on management role requiring independent decision-making in a remote, tourism-driven market.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Plan, direct and coordinate store operations, trading activities, opening/closing procedures and service standards.

· Recruit, induct, train, roster, supervise and assess employees; allocate duties and address performance issues.

· Develop and implement sales strategies, promotions, merchandising plans and customer service improvements.

· Monitor revenue, budgets, gross margins, operating costs and key performance indicators; report results to the owner.

· Manage purchasing, supplier negotiations, freight coordination, stock replenishment, inventory counts and shrinkage.

· Set and maintain pricing, product presentation, point-of-sale accuracy, cash controls and store security.

· Forecast stock and labour requirements for tourism peaks, school holidays and fluctuating local demand.

· Resolve escalated customer complaints and maintain relationships with customers,



suppliers and local stakeholders.

· Oversee workplace safety, staff training, recordkeeping and compliance with relevant business obligations.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Demonstrated retail experience with responsibility for staff, sales and inventory; solid leadership, customer service, budgeting, reporting and problem-solving skills; competence with POS, stock and rostering systems; ability to operate autonomously and respond to remote-area supply and workforce constraints. Relevant retail or business qualifications are desirable; any mandatory qualification or experience requirement must reflect the actual vacancy and applicable nomination criteria.

Location: Exmouth WA 6707 | Reports to: Business Owner / Director | Direct reports: Retail staff (as applicable)

Pay: $80,000.00 per year
