Primary objective
The Executive Director Market Engagement provides executive leadership to establish and operate a whole of Government trade and
investment delivery system that attracts private capital and grows export capability for the Northern Territory. The role designs and
oversees investor and exporter pipelines, leads cross-agency systems development and coordinates high-profile investor engagement.
The Executive Director ensures consistent investor experience, translates commercial opportunities into implementable programs, and
advises senior executives and Ministers on strategic priorities and delivery risks.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Design, implement and manage an integrated trade and investment delivery program across Government that creates, tracks and

converts investor and exporter opportunities.
2.



Lead the investor attraction pipeline, prioritise opportunities and coordinate cross-government responses to secure and facilitate

investment projects.
3. Lead exporter engagement programs to stimulate export capability, promote Territory products and open new markets for local

businesses.
4. Convene and influence multiple departments to align policy, land, regulatory and commercial support for investor and exporter

outcomes.
5. Provide decision grade advice, briefings and recommendations to senior executives and Ministers on investor prospects, program

design and systemic risks.
6. Build and lead a multidisciplinary team focused on systems, pipeline management and high-quality stakeholder engagement and ensure

governance, performance monitoring and capability uplift across the delivery system.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Systems leadership: Demonstrated experience designing and operating integrated delivery systems or pipelines that coordinate

multiple agencies to achieve commercial outcomes.
2. Investment attraction and pipeline management: Proven ability to manage investor pipelines, prioritise opportunities and convert

interest into investment.
3. Export development and market activation: Experience designing programs that grow exporter capability and open markets for local

businesses.
4. Cross Government influence: Demonstrated success convening and influencing multiple Government agencies to align policy,

approvals and services for investor or exporter projects.
5. Decision grade advice: Experience preparing explicit, timely briefings and recommendations for senior leaders and Ministers on strategic

priorities and high-profile commercial matters.
6. Qualifications: Tertiary qualification(s) in a relevant discipline combined with relevant senior executive experience, or an equivalent

combination of substantial relevant senior executive experience and education and training.
Further information
The Executive Director Market Engagement will be required to travel intra-Territory, interstate and internationally.
