Autism Support (Non-Verbal, Level 3) Experienced Support Worker

Support Network is seeking an experienced Support Worker to assist a 12-year-old participant with Level 3 Autism (non-verbal) at home and in the community.

Shift details:
Monday to Sunday, 3:30pm–5:30pm after school

Community activities, and attending therapy appointments such as speech therapy

Ongoing, long-term role.

Some activities may be 2:1 support

About the role:

We're looking for experienced, reliable support workers to join a small, consistent care team supporting a 12-year-old boy with autism who is non-verbal.

He's active, energetic and loves getting out into the community. You'll support him to take part in activities safely, help him manage sensory overload, and follow consistent routines agreed with his family and allied health team.

Essential experience

Supporting non-verbal children with autism

Managing sensory overload, emotional dysregulation and behaviours of concern

Experience with absconding risk and keeping participants secure

Understanding of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)

Recognising non-verbal cues and knowing when a break or quieter space is needed.

Relevant qualifications/requirements:
Autism support experience
Current Police Check (or willing to obtain)
Current CPR and First Aid Certificates
NDIS Orientation Certificate
Infection Control Training Certificate
NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willing to obtain if requested)
Working With Children Check (current, or willing to obtain)
Current driver's licence and comprehensive insurance (if transporting client)

Pay: $40.00 – $45.00 per hour
