Sydney Motorcycle Wizard

Alexandria

Sydney Motorcycle Wizard is looking for a motivated and organised person to join our team as a Junior Motorcycle Service Advisor / Workshop Assistant.

This is an entry-level to junior position with training provided. We are not necessarily looking for an experienced dealership Service Advisor — we are looking for the right person who has good customer-service skills, understands motorcycles, is confident with computers and wants to learn how to coordinate the front-office side of a busy motorcycle workshop.

For someone with the right attitude and aptitude, there is plenty of opportunity to develop into a full Service Advisor / Workshop Coordinator role over time.

What you'll be doing

Working alongside the workshop owners and technicians, your role will gradually include:

- Answering customer phone calls and emails
- Handling general workshop and service enquiries
- Booking motorcycles in for servicing, repairs and inspections
- Creating and maintaining customer and motorcycle records
- Greeting customers when motorcycles are dropped off
- Communicating with customers when work is completed
- Assisting with service and repair quotations
- Following up customer approvals
- Ordering motorcycle parts and tracking outstanding orders
- Assisting with workshop stock management
- Checking parts availability and supplier information
- Helping organise the workshop booking and job schedule
- Preparing completed jobs for customer collection
- General front-office and workshop administration

As your experience develops, you will be trained to take greater responsibility for quotations, parts procurement, customer recommendations and day-to-day workshop coordination.

What we're looking for

The most important requirements are:

- Excellent customer-service and communication skills
- A genuine understanding of motorcycles and motorcycle components
- Good general computer skills and the ability to learn current systems

- Comfortable using email, web-based systems and modern digital tools
- Comfortable learning to use AI-assisted tools where appropriate
- Good written English and clear telephone communication
- Good organisation and attention to detail
- Ability to manage several tasks without losing track of them
- A practical, common-sense approach to solving problems
- Reliability and willingness to learn

Motorcycle knowledge is important

You don't need to be a qualified motorcycle mechanic.

However, you should already be reasonably comfortable with motorcycles and basic terminology — for example understanding what brake pads, chains and sprockets, tyres, forks, batteries, servicing and common motorcycle components are.

This could suit someone who works on their own motorcycles, has studied automotive or motorcycle mechanics, has worked around motorcycles, or simply has strong practical motorcycle knowledge.

Previous experience

Previous experience in any of the following would be beneficial, but is not essential:

- Motorcycle or automotive workshop
- Motorcycle dealership
- Automotive parts or parts interpreting
- Service advising
- Workshop administration
- Customer service or retail
- Reception / administration
- Automotive or motorcycle mechanical studies

We are happy to train the right person.

Computer skills

A large part of modern workshop administration is computer based.

You should be comfortable learning and using:

- Workshop management / CRM software
- Email and online communication

- Parts catalogues and supplier websites
- Microsoft Office or similar applications
- Online research tools
- AI-assisted tools for appropriate administrative and research tasks

Previous experience with our particular systems is not required — training will be provided.

About Sydney Motorcycle Wizard

We are an independent motorcycle workshop based in Alexandria, working on a broad range of motorcycles and scooters.

This is a varied role where you'll learn about motorcycles, customer service, workshop operations, parts procurement and service coordination rather than performing repetitive office administration all day.

You'll work directly with experienced workshop staff and gradually take on more responsibility as your knowledge and confidence develop.

What we offer

- Permanent full-time position
- Monday-to-Friday working week
- $60,000–$65,000 + super, depending on experience
- Training in motorcycle service advising and workshop operations
- Opportunity to develop into a full Service Advisor / Workshop Coordinator role
- Broad exposure to motorcycle servicing, repairs, diagnostics, parts and workshop operations
- Independent workshop environment
- Genuine opportunity for career progression as your skills develop

To apply

Please send us your resume to [email protected] together with a short introduction telling us:

- Your previous work experience
- Your experience or interest in motorcycles
- What motorcycles you currently own, have owned or have worked with, if applicable
- Why you think this position would suit you

Formal motorcycle-industry experience is preferred but not required.

A good attitude, communication skills, motorcycle aptitude and ability to learn are more important to us than an impressive job title.

Pay: $60,000.00 – $65,000.00 per year

Work Location: In person
