We are seeking a reliable, friendly and motivated Newsagency Shop Assistant to join our team at our newsagency in Cronulla, Sydney.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys interacting with customers, takes pride in keeping a store organised, and can work independently in a fast-paced retail setting.

About the Role

As a Shop Assistant, you will help with the day-to-day operations of the newsagency, providing excellent customer service and ensuring the store runs smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

- Greeting customers and providing friendly, efficient service.
- Operating the POS system and handling cash and EFTPOS transactions.
- Processing lottery sales and assisting customers with lottery enquiries, where applicable.
- Selling newspapers, magazines, stationery, cards and other retail products.
- Receiving deliveries, restocking shelves and maintaining attractive product displays.
- Keeping the shop clean, tidy and well organised.
- Assisting with opening and closing procedures, where required.
- Monitoring stock levels and supporting general store operations.

- Reliable, punctual and well-presented.
- Friendly, approachable and confident when dealing with customers.
- Honest, trustworthy and comfortable handling cash.
- Able to work independently and demonstrate initiative.
- Organised, attentive to detail and willing to learn.
- Available to work a flexible roster, including mornings, weekends and public holidays as required.

Previous experience working in a newsagency is highly desirable, with familiarity in daily operations, lottery services, retail sales and stock management being an advantage.
