We are a modern, high-end specialty garment care business. We specialise in precision fabric care and utilise quality, fully automated European finishing machinery for jackets and dresses etc.
Casual Garment Machine Operator.
We’re looking for a reliable, detail-oriented person experienced primarily in hand ironing, ideally wanting to learn using Garment ironing Machines to assist with our high-speed automated finishing line which comes with added pay.
This is a casual role designed to help us smash through our busy midday rush. Shifts are rostered Monday to Friday, generally between 11:00 PM and 2:30 PM (20 hours a week depending on store needs, we are busy).
What you'll be doing:
This role is strictly focused on high-quality focused production. If you choose the machine operating you won't have to worry about front-counter customer service, dealing with retail clients, or tagging and bagging. A dedicated shop assistant will feed prepped garments directly to your station, so you can focus 100% on keeping the machinery running smoothly.
Our top of the line pneumatic and tensioning equipment handles the automated stretching and pressing,
eliminating the heavy physical fatigue associated with traditional manual hand-ironing.
Key Equipment & Duties:
- Operate our automated Barbanti shirt line (cuff & collar press and shirt former).
- Operate the Barbanti jacket former and Sankosha pants machine.
- Perform minimal high-end touch-ups on delicate or structured garments.
- Maintain a steady, systematic production pace throughout the shift.
The Package:
For the machine operating we offer a highly competitive total package of $35.00 per hour (All-Inclusive).
Requirements:
- Prior experience operating commercial laundry finishing machinery, tensioning formers, or industrial dry cleaning equipment is highly regarded. We don't have any dry cleaning equipment so there are no hazardous chemicals.
- Solid practical eye for fabric care, garment structure, and quality control.
- High level of focus and reliability.
- There is the train station very close.
