- Modern plant and brand-new machinery across broadacre cropping operations.
- Newly renovated 4-bedroom cottage provided with room for custom outdoors.
- Excellent career progression in an expanding family-owned enterprise.
The Role
This is an outstanding chance for a dedicated livestock and cropping-focused individual to join a progressive broadacre cropping and livestock operation located in the highly regarded Young region of New South Wales. Spanning across 10,000 acres, this highly structured enterprise balances 5,000 acres of intensive cropping with a substantial livestock division, making it an ideal environment for an individual who thrives in a diverse agricultural setting.
In this role, your primary focus will centre on broadacre cropping duties—including ground preparation, sowing, spraying, harvesting, and routine machinery maintenance—utilising an impressive lineup of brand-new, top-tier machinery and equipment. Additionally, while the position leans toward modern broadacre machinery operations, you will also play a key collaborative role in supporting the livestock side of the business, which manages 5,000 SRS Merino ewes (with 75% joined to Poll Dorset rams) and 300 Angus breeders within state-of-the-art handling facilities; stock movements can be conducted with horses and working dogs. With an ambitious, ongoing farm improvement plan currently underway—encompassing new laneway systems and modern livestock yards—the successful applicant will enjoy engaging, varied daily tasks with genuine prospects for career advancement and leadership as the enterprise continues its strategic expansion.
The Employer
Our clients are a well-established,
family-owned agricultural enterprise that proudly operates with a completed succession plan and a strong long-term vision for sustainable growth. Led by a highly supportive owner and supported on-site by a knowledgeable, long-term Farm Manager, the business prides itself on maintaining a close-knit, collaborative small team culture where every team member's contribution is valued and respected. The business is deeply committed to reinvesting in its operations, as evidenced by its modern machinery fleet, top-quality infrastructure, and comprehensive capital improvement projects. By combining traditional family values with forward-thinking agricultural practices, they offer a progressive, highly supportive work environment where employees are given the tools, autonomy, and backing required to perform at their absolute best.
The Offer
To attract a high-calibre candidate, our clients are offering a competitive remuneration package tailored to the skills, qualifications, and experience of the successful applicant. A highlight of this offer is the impressive four-bedroom family cottage, which has been fully renovated throughout, delivering comfortable, contemporary rural living. Recognising that every individual or family has unique lifestyle preferences,
the employer is exceptionally flexible and eager to collaborate with the candidate to develop the surrounding outdoor area—whether that involves constructing custom horse paddocks, building secure dog runs, or establishing personal gardens. Furthermore, this role presents exceptional long-term security, modern working conditions, and significant opportunities for personal and professional development within an expanding enterprise.
The Ideal Candidate
We are seeking an enthusiastic, practical agricultural professional who demonstrates a strong passion for modern cropping and machinery operation alongside a genuine respect for livestock management.
- Strong experience or solid aptitude in operating broadacre cropping machinery, with modern plant operation and routine maintenance skills.
- A heavy vehicle license (MC license highly advantageous) to support grain and farm transport requirements.
- Practical stockmanship skills, including moving stock with horses and working dogs, and a willingness to assist with Merino sheep and Angus cattle handling when required.
- A positive, solution-oriented attitude with the ability to work effectively both alongside an experienced Farm Manager and independently.
- Openness to candidates across a spectrum of experience levels, from keen individuals seeking mentorship to senior farm hands ready for step-up responsibilities.
