EY‑Parthenon advises corporate, government and private equity clients across the full strategy and transaction lifecycle — from corporate and growth strategy, and new market entry, through strategic analysis, deal execution, transaction integration and post‑deal value creation. As a Senior Consultant, you will join EY-Parthenon’s Financial Services Strategy team, one of the fastest-growing and highest-performing strategy teams in Australia. Based in Sydney or Melbourne, you will work on high-impact strategy engagements for C-suite and senior business leaders across banking, capital markets, asset management, wealth management and insurance.

In this role, you will work on the strategic questions that matter most to financial services leaders, such as helping superannuation funds assess merger options, evaluating acquisition opportunities, designing new customer propositions, improving productivity, and modelling market dynamics to inform growth decisions. You will be part of an ambitious and expanding global strategy practice, working alongside a highly talented team and supported by experienced EY professionals who are committed to helping you thrive and build a strong consulting career at EY-Parthenon.

Representative projects include:





- Supporting a superannuation fund CEO and Board assess potential merger partners, including market-wide analysis of fund cash flows, member demographics and long-term financial sustainability
- Advising on a buyside assessment of a wealth management asset, including testing strategic fit, identifying value creation levers and validating the opportunity through qualitative and quantitative analysis.
- Designing a digital health and wellness proposition for a private health insurer and major retailer, combining insurance products, health services and digital channels to create a more integrated customer experience

This hybrid position is based in Warrang– Sydney.

Your key responsibilities

As a Senior Consultant in the EY-Parthenon Financial Services Strategy team, you will:

- Serve as a key member on client engagement teams, supporting the team in advising clients on complex strategy issues across the financial services sector
- Contribute to the development of hypotheses and analyses, translating client needs into structured project tasks and high-quality, client-ready outputs
- Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis (e.g. market and competitor research, customer and product assessments, and strategic and financial analysis) to identify risks, opportunities, and strategic implications




- Support the development of high-impact reports and presentations, synthesising findings into practical recommendations

Skills and attributes for success

- A bachelor’s degree with outstanding academic performance and at least 3 years of relevant work experience
- Experience developing or supporting corporate strategy in Financial Services (banking, capital markets, payments,insurance,wealthmanagementand/or asset management), gained via consulting and/or industry roles
- Advanced problem-solving skills,curiosityand creative thinking
- Demonstrated aptitude for quantitative and qualitative analysis, with the confidence to translate complex data into meaningful insights
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience in delivering high-quality reports and presentations
- Robust interest in AI and technological change, with demonstrated ability to use generative AI tools effectively in a professional context
- Adept at building strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and clients
- ProficientinMicrosoft Excel and PowerPoint
