About the role: Understands the immediacy of the digital and television news environments and how best to leverage broadcast content for digital assets

The candidate is able to take initiative and work autonomously,

as well as take direction on priorities and editorial style, closely following network guidelines on style

This is a studio-based role which does not require advanced video editing skills, but does require strong writing skills to create headlines and articles relevant to clips which originate from TV broadcasts

While experience in a fast-paced newsroom or video based media company is advantageous, the most important attribute is a keen interest in high quality journalism and the drive to grow News24 output in terms of quantity and quality

The News24 newsroom is in operation 24 hours a day, and all members of the team are required to be available for flexible hours, including irregular hours and unpredictable shifts, driven by news demands with regular weekend work.
