Flight Centre Travel Group are currently hiring for a Senior Mobile App Engineer with 5+ years experience to join their Digital Platforms team within the Product Management & Engineering pillar

The Global Leisure Product Management & Engineering division is responsible for setting the vision and building the product strategy for Leisure technology products. Our multi-disciplined teams - including Product Management, Engineering, Design, Data & AI and Portfolio Management - work together to create exceptional experiences for every customer by connecting technology within our ecosystem.

Day to day:

The role is responsible for the design, build, test and release of our iOS and Android apps using React Native.

- Design, develop, test and release iOS & Android applications primarily using React Native

- Essential - TypeScript, Swift, Objective-C & Kotlin and JavaScript

- Craft high quality, secure, testable, maintainable code that is not over engineered

- Own the quality of what we build, through testing, test automation and observability to ensure operational reliability and performance

- Analyse business requirements and problem solve to create the right solutions for our customers

- Participate in code reviews with other engineers to provide feedback to ensure we maintain quality, standards, meets requirements and compliance

- Maintain and improve our documentation across code bases, architectures and our knowledge bases

- Collaborate in our cross-functional Product Management and Engineering teams to plan and deliver high quality solutions in a fast-paced, agile environment

- Be an impactful contributor to the team, to plan, design and build elegant solutions

- Take initiative and always look for ways in improving the quality of our solutions, code bases, technical debt, standards, processes and best practices





You'll be perfect for the role if you have:

- You have at least 5 years of professional experience in software development

- You have proven experience building, testing and releasing mobile apps

- You have strong experience in software testing from unit tests and UI tests

- Experience in building apps for online & offline, utilising APIs, real-time push notifications and consuming native APIs

- Experience in React native ecosystems like Hooks, State management (Redux etc), Typescript

- Experience working with Analytics/Marketing tools

Desirable:

- Desirable - C++

- Experience with DevOps tooling & practices valuing a DevOps culture

- Experience working with Google Firebase, Analytics, SFMC

- End to end testing using Appium & Webdriver.io

- Maintain compliance posture across systems

- Experience with observability tools, such as Recent Relic, and feature flagging tools such as Launch Darkly

- Passionate about/experienced with open source and developer tools

- Understanding or experience in Swift and Java/Kotlin framework
