JOB OVERVIEW

The Partnership and Sponsorship Officer supports the delivery of MSA's external partnerships and sponsorship program, working under the general supervision of the Operations Manager. Working with MSA departments and with student office bearers, the role coordinates the day-to-day administration and delivery of sponsorship, donations and team-oriented initiatives within the annual sponsorship plan and the parameters approved by the Operations Manager.

The Partnership and Sponsorship Officer maintains day-to-day working relationships with existing partners, ensuring agreed sponsorship benefits are delivered through events, digital platforms and MSA services. The role requires a balance of coordination and hands-on operational support, particularly during peak periods such as the Orientation Festival. The Partnership and Sponsorship Officer implements the partnership strategy, pricing, revenue targets and the acceptance of new partners sets by the Operations Manager.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

- Identify potential sponsorship and partnership leads across MSA departments and refer them to the Operations Manager, assisting with the preparation of sponsorship packages using MSA's approved templates and pricing.

- Maintain the sponsorship pipeline, partner database and routine reporting, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
- Prepare draft sponsorship agreements on MSA's standard terms, referring all pricing, variations and non-standard terms to the Operations Manager for approval; and coordinate campus activations, product deliveries (online and onsite), and event bump-in/bump-out processes.
- Assist the Operations Manager to update and produce MSA's sponsorship and partner prospectus, collating content from across the organisation and maintaining current versions.
- Contribute to the annual engagement plan and revenue targets set by the Operations Manager, and support delivery against those targets.
- Coordinate sponsorship opportunities for major MSA events, including Orientation Festival and Mid Year Festival.
- Act as the day-to-day contact for external partners, maintaining effective working relationships and ensuring agreed sponsorship benefits are delivered to a high standard.
- Prepare renewal documentation for ongoing partnerships for the Operations Manager's consideration, and provide timely responses to routine partnership enquiries.
- Administer approved MSA+ partner deals across MSA digital media, and refer proposed new MSA+ opportunities to the Operations Manager and MSA Finance.

- Update and maintain MSA's digital media assets, including digital screens, the website, social media posts, and any other digital media asset.
- Keep informed of industry trends, market developments and emerging sponsorship models relevant to the higher education and not-for-profit sectors, and provide relevant information to the Operations Manager.
- During peak periods, provide day-to-day direction and guidance to casual staff rostered to sponsorship activations.
- Promote MSA sponsorship opportunities to external stakeholders using approved MSA marketing materials and messaging.
- Refer all non-standard, multi-year, high-value or reputationally sensitive sponsorship proposals to the Operations Manager for decision.
- Any other tasks or projects as directed by your supervisor or management.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

- Experience in sponsorship, partnership or event administration, including working with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Sound administrative and numeracy skills, with the ability to work accurately with agreements, invoices and budget records.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including a high standard of spelling, grammar, and proofreading, together with strong interpersonal skills and a proven ability to foster collaboration.
- High level of digital and technical literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, database and data management, internet-based tools and platforms, and website maintenance.
- Demonstrated initiative, professionalism, self-motivation, and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
