- Tackling climate change by stopping emissions from fossil fuel extraction at source
- Protecting nature, including our oceans and forests, by stopping the largest sources of environmental destruction like industrial fishing and deforestation
Whatever your role at GPAP, you’ll be part of something bigger: a passionate global movement that sparks action, holds decision‑makers to account, and drives lasting change for people and the planet. The portfolio will also encompass broader climate and energy issues, including key emissions policies, data centres, extreme weather events and Australia’s international fossil fuel exports.
Key responsibilities include:
- Campaign Strategy & Execution: Lead the creation and rollout of dynamic, ambitious climate campaign strategies that integrate mobilisation, storytelling, political, corporate, and community organising tactics.
- Movement Leadership & Collaboration: Mobilise interdisciplinary project teams across GPAP and build powerful coalitions with movement allies, grassroots communities, and external stakeholders.
- Media & Public Representation: Serve as a spokesperson for Greenpeace,
presenting compelling narratives to the media, public, policy makers, and corporate leaders.
- Content Creation & Action: Guide and develop inspiring campaign content (reports, media releases, videos, emails) and integrate creative non-violent direct action tactics into overall strategies.
- Research, Insights & Adaptation: Utilise deep research and political analysis to identify leverage points, navigate changing external environments, and pivot campaign strategies effectively.
- Budget & Project Management: Manage campaign project budgets, coordinate contractors/volunteers, and deliver transparent reporting to internal leaders and funding partners.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who brings creativity, agility, and leadership to every stage of campaign planning and execution. From strategy and stakeholder engagement to content creation and media representation. You'll have excellent communication, problem-solving, and influencing skills with the ability to lead diverse teams without direct authority. You’ll ideally also have:
