Whatyou'llbe doing

As the Staff Specialist in Palliative Care you will play a pivotal role in delivering expert, contemporary care.



You will:

- Be part of a world class palliative care team with doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals
- Deliver specialist palliative and end-of-life care through clinical consultation, outreach, education, and multidisciplinary collaboration across hospital, community, residential aged care, and virtual care settings.
- Provide face to face care in our regional centres of Wagga Wagga and/or Griffith, virtual care and prescribing support as part of a multidisciplinary on-call roster, and scheduled outreach clinics as required across the region.
- Support patients across MLHD with complex care needs through inpatient consultation, outpatient and home-based consultative services and virtual outreach services.
- Provide clinical leadership, education, training and mentoring in palliative and end of life to medical staff, specialist palliative care nurses and allied health professionals.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, specialist palliative care visiting medical officers, nurse practitioners, nursing staff and allied health professionals to deliver high-quality services.
- Contribute to service development, quality improvement and the ongoing growth of specialist palliative care across MLHD.
