Summary

Our client FIXSAR Auto Repair Services is seeking to add a skilled Motor Mechanic to its growing automotive team in Yagoona, NSW. This role supports the continued delivery of reliable maintenance and advanced diagnostic services.

The typical job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following :

- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using advanced diagnostic equipment and software
- Perform routine servicing including logbook maintenance, oil changes, and fluid replacements
- Repair and replace worn or defective engine and vehicle components
- Dismantle and reassemble engines, transmissions, and steering systems as required
- Conduct brake system inspections, repairs, and complete overhauls
- Test and adjust repaired components to ensure optimal vehicle performance
- Carry out engine tune-ups to improve efficiency and compliance with emission standards
- Interpret technical manuals and specifications during repair processes
- Collaborate with workshop staff to manage repair timelines and parts availability
- Maintain a clean, organised,



and safety-compliant workshop environment
- Perform diagnostic testing using computerised automotive systems
- Inspect vehicles and identify work required for roadworthy condition
- Provide clear technical explanations of repairs and maintenance to customers
- Respond to vehicle breakdowns or urgent repair requirements when necessary

Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for the role :

- Relevant Australian automotive qualification such as Certificate III or IV in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent industry-recognised certification
- Minimum one year of recent experience working as a Motor Mechanic in a professional automotive workshop environment
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills across mechanical and electrical vehicle systems using modern tools and software
- Demonstrated ability to carry out servicing, repairs, and component replacements with accuracy and attention to detail
- Sound understanding of workshop safety procedures, environmental practices, and compliance with Australian automotive standards
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team while managing competing priorities and meeting deadlines
- Effective communication skills to clearly explain technical issues and recommended repairs to customers and team members
- Experience or willingness to work with hybrid and electric vehicle systems including diagnostics and maintenance procedures

Pay: $75,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
