We're a local cafe serving breakfast and lunch, with focus on fresh food, consistency and great service. We're looking for someone reliable and experienced who enjoys working in a positive, team- oriented environment

About the role

We are seeking a talented Junior Sous Chef to join our kitchen team.

This is a full-time position suited to a chef who enjoys a busy breakfast and lunch environment and take a pride in fresh, consistent food. The role is ideal for someone who is already confident running service and is ready to step into greater kitchen leadership.

Key responsibilities

Assist in leading daily kitchen operations

Run breakfast and brunch services efficiently during busy periods

Support and guide junior kitchen staff

Maintain consistent food quality, portioning and presentation

Manage daily prep levels, and ensure the kitchen is service-ready

Assist with stock control, ordering and wastage management

Maintain strong food safety, cleanliness and kitchen organization

Contribute ideas towards specials and menu development

Work closely with owner / Head Chef to improve kitchen systems and efficiency





Step up to oversee kitchen operations when required

What we're looking for

Previous experience as a Senior Chef de Partie or Junior Sous Chef

Full working rights in Australia

Strong cafe, breakfast, or brunch experienced preferred

Strong leadership skills, people-oriented, ethical

Confident leading service and working independently

Fast, organized and calm under pressure

Robust understanding of kitchen systems and preparation

High standards of food quality and presentation

Reliable with a positive attitude and strong work ethic

What we offer

Salary package of $75000-$78000 + super, depending on experience
