About us

Boatrocker Brewers & Distillers is an independent, family-owned craft brewery and distillery based in Melbourne’s southeast. Founded in 2009 by Matt and Andrea Houghton, we started outgypsy brewing and selling beer from the back of a car. Seventeen years later, we’re still rocking the boat.

We’ve built a solid reputation for quality and innovation, and we’re known for pioneering Australia’s first dedicated barrel room and cellar door, as well as for running one of the largest barrel-ageing programs in the country. Our range spans hop-forward pales and IPAs through to complex Belgian styles, sours, and barrel-aged beers like the much-loved Ramjet Imperial Stout.

We’re a small, hands-on team that values craft, consistency, and curiosity.

About the role

You’ll be hands-on across all aspects of production — brewing, cellaring, packaging, and general brewery duties. This is a practical role for someone who already knows their way arounda modern craft brewery and can work efficiently and safely as part of a tight team.

What we’re looking for

- Solid commercial brewing experience (this is not an entry-level position)
- Current RSA
- Strong understanding of brewing processes, hygiene, and quality control




- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Physically fit and comfortable with the demands of a production environment
