Diploma Qualified Educators

Perfect Start Mary Street | Birkdale

Where Nature Inspires Learning, Relationships Matter and Educators Thrive.

Not all early learning environments are the same. Neither are the educators who make them special.

At Perfect Start Mary Street, we believe childhood should be filled with wonder, discovery, meaningful relationships and opportunities to explore the world naturally.

Nestled in the heart of Birkdale, our beautiful 73-place early learning centre offers something a little different. With a strong connection to nature, a welcoming community atmosphere and a passionate team of educators, Mary Street is a place where children and educators can genuinely flourish.

We're looking for passionate Diploma Qualified Educators to join our Mary Street family.

Whether you're an experienced educator looking for a fresh opportunity or someone eager to continue developing your practice, we'd love to welcome someone who shares our belief that children are capable, curious and full of potential.

What Makes Mary Street Special?

At Perfect Start Mary Street, our environment is more than just a place to work. It's a place to connect, collaborate, explore and grow.

Our centre offers:

- Beautiful natural learning environments: A thoughtfully refurbished centre with inviting indoor spaces and a natural outdoor playground that encourages exploration, creativity and connection.

- Bush Kindy and outdoor exploration: With access to the neighbouring park, our children enjoy meaningful opportunities to connect with nature,

investigate their surroundings and develop confidence through outdoor learning.

- A play-based, child-led approach: Our curriculum celebrates children's interests, ideas and theories, allowing educators to create authentic learning experiences rather than simply following a routine.

- Meaningful learning opportunities: From nature-based exploration and sustainability to creative arts, music and science, our programs encourage curiosity and discovery.

- A close-knit, community-focused environment: We value the relationships we build with children, families and one another, creating a genuine sense of belonging.

- Supportive and experienced leadership: A team that values open communication, collaboration, professional reflection and growing together.

At Mary Street, we want educators to feel confident bringing their own creativity, strengths and ideas into the learning environment.

About the Role

As part of our team, you will:

- Build genuine, respectful and trusting relationships with children, families and colleagues.

- Create engaging, meaningful learning experiences inspired by children's interests, strengths and emerging ideas.

- Embrace our natural environments and support opportunities for outdoor exploration, inquiry and discovery.

- Encourage children's independence,

confidence, creativity and sense of agency.

- Collaborate with fellow educators to develop thoughtful, responsive learning environments.

- Contribute to a positive team culture where ideas are shared, reflection is encouraged and achievements are celebrated.

- Support high-quality educational practice aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework and National Quality Standard.

- Advocate for children's rights, voices and individual learning journeys.

We want educators who don't just supervise play, but see the incredible learning happening within it.

About You

We're looking for someone who:

- Holds a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care, or is actively working towards completing their Diploma.

- Has a genuine passion for early childhood education and child-led learning.

- Enjoys connecting with nature and incorporating outdoor experiences into everyday practice.

- Believes strong relationships are the foundation of quality early education.

- Brings creativity, initiative and a willingness to contribute ideas.

- Values teamwork, open communication and a positive workplace culture.

- Is reflective, adaptable and committed to ongoing skilled growth.

- Holds, or is willing to obtain, a current Blue Card, First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis qualifications, and the Foundations of Child Protection certificate.

We're not looking for perfection. We're looking for genuine, passionate educators who care deeply about children, value their colleagues and want to make a meaningful contribution.
