- Help shape an innovative psychology service supporting women and children impacted by domestic, family and sexual violence.
- Combine meaningful clinical work with leadership, mentoring and multidisciplinary service development.
- Build on established psychology support, with dedicated administrative and operational assistance.

About Jenny's Place

Jenny’s Place is a leading Domestic and Family Violence organisation establishing a new specialist centre designed to provide integrated recovery support for women and children impacted by domestic, family and sexual violence. Psychology will be a key part of this current model, working alongside broader recovery, mental health and specialist supports.

About the Opportunity

Jenny's Place is seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered or Clinical Psychologist to lead the psychology function within its new Women and Children's Specialist Centre.

This is an opportunity to combine clinical practice with professional leadership and service development, helping shape how psychological support is delivered to women and children impacted by domestic, family and sexual violence.

Importantly, psychology is not new to Jenny's Place. Through an established partnership with a university, psychological support has been integrated into the organisation's services for several years. This has helped establish collaborative ways of working between psychologists and specialist caseworkers, providing a valuable foundation for the next stage of service development.

You’ll build on these existing relationships and practices,

contributing your clinical expertise to the development of the psychology service, its clinical frameworks and evidence-based approaches.

Working alongside a passionate multidisciplinary team that will include psychology, speech pathology, occupational therapy and specialist casework, you’ll provide clinical leadership, professional guidance and mentoring, while maintaining a clinical caseload.

You’ll also have dedicated operational support. A Medical Administrator will support the establishment of administrative processes, billing and day-to-day practice operations, allowing you to focus on clinical practice, professional leadership and the development of the psychology service.

This is an opportunity to contribute to something genuinely meaningful, with the support of an established organisation and the ability to influence how specialist recovery care is delivered.

Based in Newcastle, the role may also appeal to those considering a move from Sydney. With its beautiful beaches, thriving food and hospitality scene and strong sense of community, Newcastle offers a relaxed coastal lifestyle while remaining within easy reach of Sydney.

What You’ll Be Doing

- Lead and support the clinical development of the psychology service, contributing to its frameworks, processes and evidence-based approaches.
- Provide confident, collaborative leadership,

guidance and mentoring across a multidisciplinary team.
- Maintain a clinical caseload supporting women and children impacted by domestic, family and sexual violence.
- Provide consultation and guidance on complex presentations and clinical matters.
- Support clinical quality, professional standards and consistent trauma-informed practice.
- Collaborate with allied health professionals, specialist caseworkers and the broader Jenny's Place team to deliver integrated recovery support.
- Help shape the future direction of the psychology service as it develops.

About You

We’re looking for an experienced psychologist who combines strong clinical capability with demonstrated leadership experience, sound professional judgement and a genuine commitment to improving outcomes for women and children impacted by trauma.

You’ll bring:

- Full registration with AHPRA as a Psychologist, with Clinical Psychology endorsement highly regarded.
- Demonstrated clinical leadership experience, including mentoring, supervising or guiding other professionals and contributing to team development.
- Experience working with trauma, domestic and family violence, sexual violence or related complex presentations.
- Strong psychological assessment, formulation and therapeutic skills.
- The confidence and interpersonal skills to lead and collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary environment.
- Experience contributing to clinical quality, professional standards and evidence-based practice.
- Sound judgement, accountability and a commitment to ethical, trauma-informed care.

You may have developed your leadership experience through a formal management position or a
