As our Assistant Store Manager, you’ll work alongside the Store Manager to lead a busy Trade Centre that serves both trade and retail customers across Townsville.

This is a hands‑on role where you’ll support a team that works across both the showroom and warehouse, helping customers, coordinating orders, managing stock and keeping the operation running smoothly.

No two days are the same. One day you might be coaching team members and supporting customers at the trade counter, the next you’re helping fulfil orders, coordinating deliveries or stepping in to support the daily running of the store.

How You’ll Make An Impact

As Assistant Store Manager, you’ll help create a positive customer experience while supporting the Store Manager to drive operational excellence and team performance.

You’ll

- Lead, support and motivate Sales Assistants across retail and warehouse functions
- Assist with team coaching, development and day‑to‑day supervision
- Deliver outstanding customer service and expert product advice
- Build strong relationships with trade and retail customers
- Support store sales growth through customer engagement and solution selling
- Tint and mix paint, colour match and prepare customer orders
- Coordinate order fulfilment, stock movements and customer collections
- Support inventory management, stock replenishment and merchandising standards
- Help maintain a safe, clean and organised workplace
- Ensure operational standards are consistently met
- Support the achievement of sales,



service and financial targets
- Step into Store Manager responsibilities when required

What You’ll Bring

You’ll be someone who leads by example, enjoys working with people and isn’t afraid to roll up your sleeves when needed.

You’ll Ideally Have

- Experience in retail, trade, hardware, warehouse, customer service or a similar environment
- Previous leadership, supervisory or team coaching experience
- Solid communication and relationship‑building skills
- A customer‑first mindset and passion for service
- The ability to balance operational priorities with people leadership
- A positive, proactive and organised approach to work
- A current driver’s licence
- The ability to safely lift and handle products up to 32kg
