Role Overview Our client, a leading global energy & utilities company, seeks a seasoned commercial lawyer to join its legal team on a 12-month contract. The successful candidate will provide legal support on significant procurement, infrastructure, energy, and construction projects. This role will be instrumental in supporting strategic initiatives, including major network and housing-related projects, by delivering practical, commercially focused legal advice and managing complex contractual matters. The role is expected to commence ASAP and will be based in Perth.

Key Responsibilities
• Provide legal support on strategic procurement and commercial initiatives.
• Draft, review, negotiate, and manage complex commercial contracts.
• Advise on contractual rights, obligations, and risk management.
• Support major infrastructure, energy, and construction projects.
• Manage contract variations, claims, and dispute resolution matters.
• Deliver pragmatic and commercially focused legal advice to stakeholders.
• Support supplier engagement, tendering, and procurement activities.
• Identify and mitigate legal and commercial risks across projects.
• Collaborate with procurement and project teams to ensure successful project delivery. About You
• A minimum of 8+ years of post-qualification experience in commercial, procurement, projects, construction, infrastructure, or energy law.
• Proven experience negotiating and advising on complex commercial and procurement contracts.
• Strong background supporting major infrastructure, energy, construction, or capital projects.
• Demonstrated ability to provide commercially focused legal advice and manage contractual risk.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, with experience partnering closely with procurement, project,
