Majestic Young Plants is a propagation nursery and horticultural company, supplying wholesale markets in Australia and internationally with high-quality plant material. We run an in-house tissue culture laboratory in Healesville, Victoria, and are seeking two experienced Nurserypersons to propagate plants through tissue culture.
Key responsibilities
Propagating plants by tissue culture, including subculturing and multiplication under aseptic conditions in laminar flow cabinets Preparing and sterilising culture media and equipment Supporting the initiation of new plant material Deflasking, then sticking and acclimatising tissue culture plantlets in the nursery Monitoring cultures and plantlets for contamination,
growth and quality Keeping accurate propagation and production records Maintaining strict laboratory hygiene and cleaning standards Appropriate handling of propagation material Requirements Certificate III in Nursery Operations or Production Horticulture, or at least 2 years’ experience in plant propagation (tissue culture experience highly regarded) Valuable aseptic technique, fine hand skills and attention to detail Ability to work at a steady, consistent rate Understanding of quality standards and of health and safety regulations Literacy and numeracy skills, and proficiency in MS Office Please apply online and submit your resume.
