Systems Accountant Needed, 12 Month Fixed Term Contract, Flexible locations, $122K Plus Super/n Your new company /n An exciting opportunity exists for a qualified finance professional to join a major transformation program driving the replacement of core Finance and Billing systems within a respected Victorian organisation.
This role is ideal for an experienced System Accountant who can bridge the gap between Finance, Technology and Project teams. Acting as the Finance Lead for a significant finance systems implementation, you will play a critical role in ensuring business requirements are translated into practical system outcomes while maintaining solid financial controls, reporting integrity and operational readiness throughout the project lifecycle. Your new role /n Reporting directly to the CFO, you will provide finance leadership and subject matter expertise across a large-scale Finance and Billing system replacement project.

Key responsibilities
include: /n /n
- Acting as the Finance Lead and key finance representative throughout the project /n
- Translating finance and billing requirements into system design, configuration and business processes /n
- Providing finance assurance across solution design, testing, data migration, cutover and go-live activities /n
- Leading Finance participation in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and validating test outcomes /n
- Coordinating data migration activities, reconciliations, parallel processing and financial control processes /n
- Supporting operational readiness, business adoption and knowledge transfer activities /n
- Developing finance procedures, work instructions, training materials and user documentation /n
- Partnering with project teams, vendors and stakeholders to resolve issues and influence outcomes /n
- Providing recommendations to senior leadership regarding system readiness and successful deployment /n
- Supporting continuous improvement of finance processes, controls and reporting frameworks /n

What you'll need




to succeed /n /nTo be successful in this role you will demonstrate:/n /n
- CA or CPA qualification /n
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline /n
- Experience as a System Accountant, Finance Systems Accountant or Finance Transformation professional /n
- Strong understanding of financial accounting, management accounting and financial controls /n
- Expertise across general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting, fixed assets, banking, reconciliations and financial reporting /n
- Demonstrated experience supporting ERP implementations, finance system upgrades or digital transformation programs /n
- Ability to translate business requirements into system functionality, controls and reporting outcomes /n
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to work across finance, project and technology teams /n
- Advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities and experience with enterprise financial systems /n Highly regarded experience includes:/n /n
- Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central /n
- Finance and billing system replacement projects /n
- Power BI or Microsoft Fabric reporting environments /n
- Utilities, water, government or other regulated industries /n
- Data migration, testing, operational readiness and change adoption activities /n What you'll get in return /n /n /n
