Baden Civil is a long-established, family-owned Gold Coast business that supplies earthmoving plant and machinery to the civil construction and infrastructure industry, across South East Queensland and Northern NSW.

We are looking for an experienced

Payroll & Accounts Officer

to join our small office team in Mudgeeraba, on a permanent part-time basis.

The role is approximately

12 hours per week across two days , with

Tuesday being a mandatory working day

for the processing of our weekly payroll. There is flexibility around the second working day.

What we’re looking for Our ideal candidate will be an experienced payroll professional with exceptional attention to detail and the confidence to manage a complex weekly payroll accurately and independently.

You will ideally have:

Strong Xero Payroll experience – essential

Extensive payroll processing experience, including the

interpretation and application of multiple Enterprise Agreements, Modern Awards, allowances, overtime and varying pay rates

Experience with

Xero payroll setup, implementation or migration

(from MYOB) would be particularly advantageous

Previous payroll experience within the

civil/construction industry

in QLD – highly regarded

Excellent attention to detail and accurate data entry skills

Experience processing and meticulously checking timesheets and associated payroll documentation

Accounts payable experience, including invoice processing and liaison with suppliers and subcontractors

Accounts receivable experience, including customer account setup, credit checks, statements and outstanding invoices

Confidence using Excel and the broader Microsoft Office suite





A professional and responsive approach to phone and email communication

A reliable, proactive and flexible attitude, with a willingness to assist colleagues when required

Our systems We have recently migrated our weekly payroll from MYOB to Xero Payroll, so robust hands-on Xero Payroll experience is essential. Experience assisting with payroll setup, implementation and/or migration to Xero would be a significant advantage as we continue to establish and refine our new payroll system.

Our business operated extensively within MYOB AccountRight for many years, and while our current accounting systems have transitioned away from MYOB, our historical company and payroll records remain within our online MYOB files. Accordingly, previous MYOB experience will be valuable when accessing historical information and archived records.

Experience with WH&S; portals, electronic docket systems,

Lucidity

and

Plant Assessor

would also be advantageous, although training can be provided on our industry-specific systems.

About the role Approximately

50% of the role will be focused on payroll and associated payroll administration , including timesheets, employee records and checking the correct application of employment conditions.

The remaining time will involve supporting our Directors and office team with accounts payable, accounts receivable and general administration as required.

We are a small team, so while everyone has their own core responsibilities, we value people who are happy to pitch in and support one another when someone is away or workloads require it.

Shortlisting will commence in early November, with the successful candidate required to be available for training in early December.
