An exciting opportunity is available for a

Laboratory Technical Officer

to join a small, collaborative team supporting materials research, development and processing activities.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on laboratory work, operating specialised equipment and contributing to innovative materials technology projects.

About the Role Reporting to an engineering manager, you will support the preparation and processing of powder and liquid materials for various research and technology projects.

This is a hands-on position with established procedures, specialised equipment and comprehensive training provided.

Duties

Prepare, mix, blend and process powder and liquid materials

Operate specialised laboratory and materials processing equipment

Assist with equipment cleaning, maintenance and troubleshooting

Follow SOPs, work instructions and safety procedures

Accurately record process data, observations and results

Maintain laboratory equipment, workspaces and quality standards

Support ongoing materials development and processing projects





Skills & Experience

Tertiary qualification in Chemistry, Materials Science, Physics, Chemical/Process Engineering or a related discipline

Previous hands-on laboratory, manufacturing or materials processing experience preferred

Exposure to mixing, blending, granulation, batching or powder processingis highly regarded

Good mechanical aptitude and confidence working with equipment

Robust attention to detail and ability to follow technical procedures

Understanding of laboratory safety, quality systems and documentation

Early-career candidates with relevant practical experience are encouraged to apply.
