Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century’s most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.

About The Job This is an onsite senior individual-contributor role responsible for owning the development, implementation and continuous improvement of EHS programs across a fast-moving manufacturing, test and field environment.

As the senior EHS professional on site, you are the subject-matter expert: you own the programs, set the standard, and partner with operations to keep our people safe and the site compliant with the WHS Act, Regulations and applicable Codes of Practice. Your scope spans occupational safety, high-risk work, incident management, environmental compliance, contractor oversight and emergency preparedness — across operations that include heavy manufacturing, lifting, offshore testing, electrical work, lithium-ion battery systems and general industrial activities.

You lead through expertise, influence and credibility — building a culture where safe behaviour is the default and EHS is a partner to production, not a roadblock. This role reports to the EHS Senior Manager for Australia.

This role is for someone who wants to build a system, not just manage one.

What You’ll Do

Own the site’s EHS management system, programs, standards and risk framework — develop, implement, improve, and drive them to scale as operations grow

Serve as the EHS interface to site leadership, operational teams, contractors, auditors and regulators

Lead incident and near‑miss investigations, including root cause analysis, and drive corrective and preventive actions to closure

Provide specialist oversight for high-risk operations: lifting, electrical work and LOTO, lithium-ion battery systems, heavy manufacturing equipment, and offshore testing and field activities

Establish EHS requirements for contractors, verify compliance, and manage contractor and visitor safety

Manage environmental compliance including waste, hazardous substances, spill prevention and pollution control; coordinate occupational hygiene assessments and health surveillance

Provide EHS input into management of change, new technology introductions and facility/process design

Develop and deliver training, inductions, toolbox talks and awareness programs

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Safety/Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline

Progressive EHS experience in engineering, manufacturing, maritime, defence,

aerospace, or other complex technical/industrial environments

Working knowledge of the WHS Act and Regulations (NSW), applicable Codes of Practice, and relevant Australian Standards

Experience integrating hazard analysis and risk assessment with engineering and program decision-making — not purely after-the-fact compliance work

Demonstrated ability to own programs and influence multidisciplinary teams without direct authority

Strong communication, facilitation and relationship-building skills; ability to translate technical risk into actionable business recommendations

Preferred Qualifications

Direct experience in maritime, shipbuilding, or naval engineering/operations environments

Experience with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001

Experience scaling an EHS management system through rapid site or program growth

Natural tendency to challenge the status quo; leans into hard problems instead of walking away

Benefits The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations. Highly competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full time offers; and are considered part of Anduril's total compensation package. Additionally, Anduril offers top-tier benefits for full-time employees, including:
