About the role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Major Gifts Officer – Campaign to play a central role in advancing NORTH Foundation’s Philanthropy Campaign. This is a relationship-centred, results-focused role responsible for identifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding donors capable of making significant and transformational gifts. You will manage your own portfolio of campaign prospects and donors, developing tailored engagement strategies that connect their philanthropic interests with compelling opportunities to make an impact. Working closely with the Philanthropy Campaign Manager, you will progress prospects through the full donor journey, develop compelling cases for support and lead meaningful gift conversations aligned with campaign priorities. A key part of the role will be partnering with Northern Sydney Local Health District clinicians, researchers, trial leaders and hospital leadership to translate complex clinical research into clear, credible and emotionally resonant donor propositions. You will also:
• Build and manage a strong portfolio of campaign prospects and donors




• Identify and qualify prospective donors, including individuals, families, trusts and foundations
• Lead donor meetings, clinical briefings, site visits and campaign engagement activities
• Develop tailored proposals, presentations and gift discussions
• Create individualised stewardship plans that keep donors connected to the impact of their support
• Work collaboratively with clinical and research stakeholders to develop donor-ready funding opportunities
• Maintain disciplined CRM, pipeline, forecasting and reporting practices. About you You are an experienced major gifts fundraiser who understands that transformational philanthropy is built on trust, credibility and long-term relationships. You combine strategic relationship management with strong execution and are confident engaging with high-net-worth individuals, families, trusts and foundations, as well as senior clinicians, researchers and organisational leaders. You will bring:
• Demonstrated experience in major gift fundraising, philanthropy, development or high-value donor relations, ideally within health, medical research, education or the not-for-profit sector
• A track record of personally managing a portfolio of major donors and securing significant philanthropic gifts




• Exceptional relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
• The ability to translate complex clinical or scientific information into compelling and credible donor narratives
• Strong strategic thinking, judgement and attention to detail
• Knowledge of major gift fundraising principles, including moves management, the donor cycle, gift agreements and stewardship
• Robust CRM discipline and a commitment to accurate data and pipeline management
• The ability to work independently, show initiative and thrive in a fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environment.
