Biochemist – AI Data Trainer
About The Role
Your deep expertise in biochemistry is more valuable than you might think — beyond the lab. We're partnering with the world's leading AI research teams to build smarter, more scientifically rigorous AI models, and we need PhD-level biochemists to help make it happen. This is a fully remote, flexible contract role where you'll use your domain knowledge to challenge, audit, and refine advanced AI systems on complex biochemical topics. No AI background needed — your science is the skill.
• Organization: Alignerr
• Type: Hourly Contract
•
Location:
Remote
• Commitment: 10–40 hours/week
What You'll Do
• Design Challenging Problems — Create advanced biochemistry questions and scenarios across domains like protein folding, metabolic flux analysis, nucleic acid chemistry, proteomics, and drug-target interactions to rigorously test AI performance.
• Author Gold-Standard Solutions — Write precise, step-by-step technical solutions that serve as benchmarks for high-level scientific reasoning in AI systems.
• Audit AI Outputs — Evaluate AI-generated biochemical pathways, molecular structures, and mathematical proofs for technical accuracy, scientific validity, and safety.
• Sharpen AI Reasoning — Identify logical errors in AI responses — such as incorrect stoichiometry, misapplied enzyme kinetics,
or flawed stereochemistry — and provide structured feedback to improve model performance on life science tasks. Who You Are
• Advanced Degree: PhD (completed or in final stages) in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a closely related field
• Domain Expertise: Solid foundational knowledge in areas such as structural biology, enzymology, cellular metabolism, bioinformatics, or molecular genetics
• Clear Communicator: Able to translate highly technical biological and chemical concepts into precise, well-structured written explanations
• Detail-Oriented: High level of precision when reviewing complex chemical equations, molecular diagrams, and experimental protocols
• No prior AI experience required Nice to Have
• Experience with data annotation, quality evaluation, or scientific peer review
• Familiarity with computational biochemistry tools such as PyMOL, AlphaFold, or BLAST
• Background in bioinformatics or cheminformatics Why Join Us
• Work on cutting-edge AI projects alongside top research labs and institutions
• Fully remote and flexible — set your own schedule and work at your own pace
• Make a meaningful impact on how AI reasons about science
• Freelance perks: autonomy, variety, and collaboration with experts worldwide
