We're looking for an experienced warehouse operations professional to lead a hands-on, six-month improvement project focused on stock control, job-specific pre-picking, inventory systems and more efficient day-to-day operations. You'll work alongside our existing Warehouse Team Leader and Business Process Analyst, taking ownership of identifying, developing, implementing and embedding practical improvements. This is an improvement-focused role rather than a traditional warehouse management position. You'll analyse how things currently work, identify opportunities and help turn solutions into reliable processes the warehouse team can maintain. • Review existing warehouse workflows, including receiving, storage, stock control, picking, pre-loading, dispatch and replenishment.
• Identify operational inefficiencies, stock discrepancies, material shortages and causes of avoidable job delays.
• Work alongside the Warehouse Team Leader to improve daily coordination, materials planning and operational efficiency.
• Strengthen coordination between warehouse, manufacturing and trades teams. Inventory Systems & Process Implementation
• Develop and implement practical stock management and job-specific pre-picking processes.
• Explore ways to generate picking lists and material requirements from approved quotes.
• Evaluate suitable stock tracking, barcode scanning and inventory management solutions.
• Improve stock accuracy, inventory visibility and material availability ahead of scheduled jobs.
• Work with our Business Process Analyst to assess system options, integration feasibility and costs.
• Use tools such as AroFlo, Datapel,

Trello and Excel to streamline workflows and reduce manual work. Practical Implementation & Team Adoption
• Turn improvement recommendations into workable processes on the warehouse floor.
• Work directly with warehouse staff to test, refine and implement improvements.
• Develop practical procedures, checklists and training materials.
• Track results, identify further opportunities and help ensure improvements are sustained beyond the project. What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who understands warehouse operations, can identify why processes aren't working efficiently and has personally delivered improvements that made a measurable difference. Essential experience and capabilities:
• Strong practical experience in warehouse operations, inventory management, logistics or manufacturing.
• Demonstrated experience analysing and improving warehouse processes or operational systems.
• Proven ability to take improvement initiatives from identifying a problem through to practical implementation.
• Sound understanding of stock control, picking, replenishment and inventory management.
• Experience working collaboratively with warehouse teams to introduce operational improvements.
• Confidence using warehouse systems, Excel and digital tools.
• Strong problem-solving, communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with operational teams.
• Availability to work on-site in Preston, five days per week, for six months.
• Valid Australian work rights covering the required engagement and hours. Highly regarded:

• Experience implementing warehouse management systems, digital picking or barcode scanning.
• Familiarity with AroFlo, Datapel, Trello or similar systems.
• Experience improving materials planning or job preparation workflows.
• Background in trades, building materials, manufacturing, construction or field-service operations.
• Practical experience with 5S, continuous improvement or warehouse automation. You don't need to know every system we use. What matters is your ability to understand operational problems, develop practical solutions, implement improvements and help people adopt them. What Success Looks Like By the end of the six-month project, we're aiming for:
• More accurate and reliable stock management.
• A working pre-picking process that prepares materials ahead of scheduled jobs.
• Fewer material shortages, unnecessary supplier trips and avoidable delays.
• Better warehouse coordination, materials planning and inventory visibility.
• Clear procedures and practical improvements the team can maintain.
