The Opportunity: At Flywire, we are seeking an enthusiastic Software Engineer I to join our dedicated team in Australia. In this full-stack role, you will contribute to our billing and payments product—which securely powers hundreds of millions of dollars in daily global money movement—where a solid foundation in Java and core web technologies will set you up for success.

Key Responsibilities
Feature Development: Build, test, and maintain clean, high-quality code within our billing and payment system. Continuous Learning & AI Tools: Actively leverage AI-assisted development tools to explore the codebase, accelerate your understanding of complex systems, and boost productivity. Quality & Testing: Write comprehensive unit and integration tests to ensure code reliability, security, and performance. System Diagnostics: Learn to use diagnostic tools to investigate issues, debug bugs, and resolve technical challenges. Cooperative Problem Solving: Participate in solutioning discussions and team code reviews, staying open to feedback and learning from peers across engineering and product teams. Technical

Requirements:
Java Foundation: Strong understanding of Java core principles and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP). Database Fundamentals: Understanding of relational database concepts and SQL. Framework Awareness:



Exposure to standard Java frameworks (such as Spring Core, Spring Boot, or Hibernate) and web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSP). Modern Workflow: Eagerness to use modern software engineering tools, version control (Git), and AI-assisted workflows.
