Australian Dental Foundation

Expand our reach. Strengthen our partnerships. Help more Australians access essential dental care.
The Australian Dental Foundation Inc. (ADFi) is seeking an accomplished Senior Business Development Manager to lead the growth of our community dental programs across South Australia and Western Australia.
This is a senior appointment for an experienced professional who can establish influential partnerships, identify sustainable funding opportunities and develop long-term relationships with schools, aged care providers, corporate organisations and community stakeholders.
The position carries genuine responsibility for expanding the Foundation's reach and ensuring that our programs remain accessible, effective and financially sustainable.
About the Australian Dental Foundation Inc.
The ADFi is an established Australian charity committed to improving access to dental care for people and communities who may otherwise face barriers to receiving essential oral health services.
Through our My School Dentist program, mobile dental services and aged care initiatives, we bring dental care directly into schools, residential aged care facilities and communities across metropolitan and regional Australia.
Our school dental program reaches more than 30,000 children annually, reflecting the scale of our operations and the longstanding relationships we have established with educational institutions and local communities.
Supported by experienced dental clinicians, operational teams and established healthcare infrastructure, the Foundation combines clinical expertise with a practical approach to addressing gaps in oral healthcare access.
Our work extends beyond the delivery of dental treatment. It is about building sustainable programs, supporting preventative oral healthcare and improving access for communities that need it.
As we continue to expand our programs, we are seeking a senior business development professional who can contribute to the next stage of the Foundation's development.
The appointment
Reporting to the Central and Western Operations Manager, the Senior Business Development Manager will take responsibility for developing and executing the Foundation's growth and partnership strategy across South Australia and Western Australia.
The role requires someone who is equally comfortable engaging with senior institutional stakeholders, negotiating partnership arrangements, developing new funding opportunities and working with operational leadership to ensure that commitments translate into successful service delivery.
This is not a traditional sales position.

Your principal responsibilities will include:
- Lead the expansion of the Foundation's school dental and aged care programs through new institutional and community partnerships.
- Develop and maintain relationships with school principals, education sector representatives, aged care executives, government agencies and community organisations.
- Identify and secure corporate sponsorships, philanthropic contributions, donor relationships and other suitable funding opportunities.
- Strengthen existing partnerships through structured engagement, service reviews and long-term program planning.
- Develop proposals and partnership arrangements that support the Foundation's charitable objectives and financial sustainability.
- Identify opportunities to increase participation in existing programs, particularly within schools and aged care facilities.
- Work closely with clinical and operational leadership to align program expansion with workforce capacity, service quality and delivery requirements.
- Represent the Foundation at relevant industry forums, conferences and stakeholder engagements.
- Monitor partnership performance, program participation, funding outcomes and financial indicators, providing informed recommendations to management.
- Contribute to the Foundation's broader strategic planning and future program development.
The professional we are seeking
We are looking for an established business development professional with the maturity, credibility and commercial capability to represent the Foundation at a senior level.
You will bring a demonstrated record of securing and managing significant partnerships, developing new opportunities and maintaining productive relationships with institutional or corporate stakeholders.
Experience within the not-for-profit, charitable, healthcare, education, aged care or community services sectors will be particularly relevant. We would also welcome applications from accomplished commercial professionals who can demonstrate a genuine understanding of the charitable sector and its operating setting.
We would expect you to demonstrate:
- Substantial experience in senior business development, strategic partnerships, corporate engagement or a comparable relationship management position.
- Proven success in negotiating agreements, developing new partnerships and delivering measurable growth outcomes.
- The ability to engage confidently with senior executives, institutional decision-makers and community leaders.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen, including the ability to evaluate opportunities for their long-term viability.
- Experience in sponsorship, fundraising, philanthropic engagement or institutional partnerships, or the capability to develop these areas.
- Excellent written communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
- Sound judgement, professional discretion and the ability to operate with considerable independence.
- An appreciation of governance, accountability and the importance of maintaining public trust in a charitable organisation.
Above all, we are seeking someone who understands that the Foundation's reputation is built through the quality of its services, the strength of its relationships and the confidence placed in it by the communities it serves.
