Medical Receptionist / Call Centre - Cairns GP Superclinic - Casual

We require a Receptionist for our General Practice / Call Centre

Must be available for regular / rotational rostered shifts over 7 days

Customer service skills required, with an empathetic nature

Commitment required, is available for both morning, afternoon and evening shifts, during Clinic opening hours

Includes Call Centre shifts, as part of reception role (at the Practice in the city and our Admin office in Woree)

Previous medical receptionist / call centre experience is an advantage, however candidates with a background in reception/admin, customer service or hospitality are encouraged to apply. On-the-job training provided.

Key Responsibilities:

- Answer incoming calls on a busy switchboard and manage emails.
- Book appointments and manage multiple diaries.
- Greet patients warmly, maintaining a friendly setting.
- Ensure cleanliness and compliance with infection control protocols.
- Handle patient enquiries, rescheduling, good in challenging situations.
- Assist healthcare professionals and perform administrative tasks.

Ideally have :

- Exceptional customer service skills with polite, empathetic manner.




- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, remaining calm under pressure.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with multitasking ability.
- Commitment to ongoing training and professional development.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn, be directed and follow procedures
- Team player with intermediate computer skills.
- Valid driver’s licence for errands (automatic vehicle).
- Australian citizenship or permanent residency essential.

Availability:

Approx. 3 to 5 shifts per week (23 up to 38 hours).

Flexibility is required, as shifts cover morning, afternoon and evening.

Rotational weekends - during clinic's opening hours.

Current clinic hrs - Mon-Fri 7am to 9pm; Sat-Sun 8am to 6pm, also open Public Holidays.
