Building Coordinator
About Good Constructions
Established in 1995 by Jolyon and Jayne Good, Good Constructions has built a strong reputation for delivering quality building and refurbishment services.
Since 2015, we've specialised in the retirement living sector, delivering renovations and reinstatements of residential units, common facilities, and village grounds. Our practical, solution-focused approach and commitment to quality and care have supported our continued growth across Australia.
Today, we partner with clients ranging from smaller village operators to organisations managing extensive retirement living portfolios. With projects across Melbourne, Sydney, the Central Coast and Mid North Coast of New South Wales, we continue to grow and create exciting opportunities for our team.
The Opportunity
Due to continued growth and an expanding pipeline of work, Good Constructions is looking for a Building Coordinator to join our team.
This newly created role will play an important part in supporting our growing client base and coordinating projects from initial tender requests through to construction handover, while maintaining strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
Acting as a key link between our clients and internal teams, you'll coordinate project workflows, manage documentation and ensure projects are accurately scoped, organised and ready for delivery.
We're looking for someone who is highly organised, enjoys building relationships and thrives on managing multiple priorities. You'll be confident communicating with clients, coordinating stakeholders and ensuring the details are right.
Working closely with our estimating, procurement and construction teams, you'll help deliver the high standards of service and quality that Good Constructions is known for.
What You'll Be Doing
Client Relationships
- Act as a key point of contact for an allocated portfolio of clients, building and maintaining strong relationships.
- Work closely with clients, village managers and key stakeholders to understand their requirements and manage expectations.
- Support the onboarding and establishment of new client relationships.
- Coordinate contract execution and purchase orders for awarded projects.
- Attend project scoping, handover and client meetings as required.
Project & Workflow Coordination
- Coordinate project workflows from initial tender requests through to tender submission and construction handover.
- Manage the pre-construction process, ensuring project information, documentation and requirements are complete and ready for delivery.
- Liaise with estimating, procurement, and construction teams to keep projects progressing and ensure a smooth handover.
- Monitor key milestones, identify potential delays or issues and coordinate solutions or escalate where required.
- Support construction teams with client communication, defect management and project close-out activities.
Communication & Stakeholder Management
- Maintain proactive communication with clients and internal stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide timely project updates, ensuring clients are informed of progress, key milestones and any changes.
- Coordinate communication relating to tender submissions, project commencement, completion and defect rectification.
- Help resolve client enquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.
Administration & Documentation
- Maintain accurate client specifications, project records and documentation.
- Manage document control systems and client portals, ensuring information is current and accessible.
- Prepare and submit minor works and variation quotations using internal, supplier and subcontractor pricing.
- Ensure project information is accurate, complete and aligned with client requirements.
What Success Looks Like
You'll be successful in this role when you're:
- Building solid, trusted relationships with clients and delivering a consistently positive client experience.
- Keeping tender and pre-construction workflows organised, accurate and progressing within agreed timeframes.
- Ensuring construction teams receive complete and accurate project information for a smooth handover.
- Communicating proactively, identifying issues early and helping keep projects on track.
- Contributing ideas and improvements that enhance efficiency, quality and client satisfaction.
About You
We're looking for someone who enjoys working with people,
takes pride in being organised and can confidently manage multiple projects and priorities.
Ideally, you'll bring:
- Experience in project coordination, construction administration, client services or account management.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to engage with clients, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple projects and competing priorities.
- High attention to detail, with the ability to identify errors, omissions, and potential issues before they impact project delivery.
- Confidence using Microsoft Office, document management systems, and client portals, with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach, with a willingness to learn, take ownership and contribute to a growing team.
- Experience in construction, property, facilities management, or a related industry would be highly regarded, but we're equally interested in candidates with strong transferable skills and the right attitude.
