Heavy Lift Operator

CEVA Fagioli - Site-based rotational role

Work with specialised equipment on complex heavy lifting and transport projects.

CEVA Fagioli is seeking an experienced Heavy Lift Operator with strong technical capability and experience guiding lifting crews.

This hands-on role involves operating and configuring specialised equipment, supporting safe lifting operations and coordinating equipment maintenance. You will also provide practical technical guidance to crews and work closely with engineering, maintenance and project teams.

Key responsibilities

- Operate, assemble and configure specialised heavy lifting equipment, including cranes, SPMTs, jacking and skidding systems, and tower systems, within your licences and demonstrated competencies.

- Support the planning and execution of lifting and transport operations in accordance with company procedures, client requirements and applicable standards.

- Interpret and implement engineering drawings, lift plans and technical instructions.

- Apply safe rigging practices and ensure equipment operates within specified load limits.

- Conduct pre-start checks, functional testing and inspections of mechanical and hydraulic systems.

- Identify equipment faults and coordinate or perform maintenance and repairs within your competency.

- Guide lifting crews, mentor operators and provide technical direction during site activities.

- Support the verification of operator competencies and certifications, including coordinating training and assessments.

- Participate in toolbox talks, pre-lift meetings and Job Safety Analyses.

- Identify hazards,



implement controls and stop work when conditions are unsafe.

- Contribute to safe work procedures, method statements and contingency plans.

- Liaise with engineering and project teams on equipment configuration, technical documentation and operational requirements.

- Maintain accurate inspection, maintenance, fault and compliance records.

About you

To succeed in this role, you will have:

- A minimum of two years’ relevant experience in a similar role using specialised heavy lifting equipment.

- Relevant licences, tickets and competencies for the equipment you will operate.

- Robust knowledge of rigging and lifting practices, load calculations and equipment operating limits.

- Experience assembling and configuring complex heavy lifting systems.

- The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, lift plans and technical documentation.

- Strong mechanical and hydraulic aptitude, including practical fault-finding skills.

- Experience guiding crews and mentoring operators.

- Clear communication and practical problem-solving skills.

- A strong safety mindset and accountability for equipment and operational outcomes.

- Availability to work on a rotational basis at project sites across APAC.
