About PowerPlay

PowerPlay is an electric go-karting indoor entertainment centre. We're proud of what makes us different, and we're 100% committed to making every visit fun, exciting and memorable.

Our team is made up of hardworking, reliable, customer-focused people who share one thing in common: a passion for going above and beyond so every guest leaves smiling.

Racing is in everything we do, how we greet customers, how we coach drivers, how we show up each day. We love what we do, and it shows.

The role

The Track Manager runs the track team at Campbellfield and reports to the Venue Manager. It’s a leadership role, but you’ll still spend most of your time on the floor. You’ll set the standard for the Assistant Track Managers, Track Leads and Attendants, train them and sign them off, and jump in on Attendant duties whenever needed.

What you’ll do

- Lead the track team on every shift and set the tone: welcoming, high-energy and safe

- Run the venue’s training program and coach the team on how to teach racers braking points, racing lines and handling the slide

- Hold the safety standard on track, in the Driver Zone, the Pit Lane and the Maintenance Area

- Handle incidents from start to finish, including response, records, action plans and escalation

- Manage grip levels, speed cut-offs, tyres and track condition so the track stays challenging but safe

- Work with our technical team to keep karts serviced, and follow up every kart and track fault until it’s fixed

- Track the team’s coaching performance through our Coaching and Education Score and fix problems before they show up on track

- Race regularly. You’ll need to keep your driving skills sharp and hold our Speed 4 qualification

What you’ll bring

- Experience leading and coaching a team in a similar high-energy customer setting

- A track record of training and developing people

- Experience managing incidents and following safety procedures to the letter. Our standard is 100% safety, 100% of the time

- Enough mechanical sense to spot and log faults on karts and the track

- Transparent communication with your team and your managers

- A real love of karting or motorsport

- Availability to work a roster that includes evenings, weekends and school holidays

Experience in hospitality, leisure, retail or entertainment is a plus. So is a qualification in coaching, sport, recreation or leadership, but you don’t need one. You’ll work through the PowerPlay Academy certification levels as part of your onboarding.

What we offer

- Salary of around $70,000 plus super, pro-rata for part-time

- Full training through the PowerPlay Academy

- Race time as part of the job

- A team that takes safety seriously and has fun anyway, with regular team nights like Pizza & Play

There is an option for this role to be part-time (minimum 30 hours per week).

How to apply

Send your resume and a short cover letter telling us why you want to run a track. If we like your application, part of the interview will take place on the track.

PowerPlay is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applications from all backgrounds.
