We are seeking a technically focused Solution Architect to join a leading medical research organisation undertaking a review and uplift of its Finance and HR, Procurement & Payroll technology environment.

This is a hands-on technical role with no direct reports, suited to someone who enjoys working closely with systems, integrations and solution design rather than people management.

About the role

Working closely with business stakeholders, internal technology teams and implementation partners, you will:

- Assess the current platform's configuration, integrations, data flows and technical dependencies.
- Identify practical remediation options to improve platform stability and simplify the environment.
- Develop current- and future-state architecture designs, integration diagrams, solution blueprints and technical specifications.
- Translate business requirements into secure, scalable and deliverable technical solutions.
- Assess configuration and integration options, recommending approaches that reduce complexity and unnecessary customisation.
- Provide technical guidance on platform improvements and future ERP options, including assessing vendor solutions.
- Identify and manage technical risks across security,



data protection and system integration.

About you

You will bring a strong technical background in solution architecture, enterprise systems or integration, combined with experience improving complex ERP, Finance or HR platforms.

We are particularly interested in candidates with:

- Hands-on technical experience with comparable ERP, HCM or Finance platforms.
- Experience reviewing existing systems, troubleshooting technical issues and defining practical improvements.
- Solid knowledge of enterprise integration patterns, APIs and data flows across connected platforms.
- Experience supporting ERP uplift, transformation or replacement programs.
- An understanding of cloud architecture, security-by-design and application and data architecture.
- The ability to work closely with technical teams while clearly explaining options and recommendations to business stakeholders.
