About us Expansion Joint Systems Australia is a specialist subcontractor installing expansion joints, fire seals and waterproofing on commercial, healthcare and infrastructure projects across Sydney. We work for Tier 1 and Tier 2 builders on major projects including hospitals, metro stations and high-rise towers.

We’re a small team that runs on good systems. We’re looking for an installer who cares about how the work gets done as much as getting it done.

The role You’ll be part of a site crew installing expansion joint, fire seal and waterproofing systems, working under the direction of our lead installers. Your job is to make sure every area you work on is finished properly and ready to hand over:

Installing expansion joint, fire seal and waterproofing systems to spec and to tolerance

Following our install methods and site processes, from prestarts and SWMS through to task records

Checking your own work as you go so it’s right the first time

Flagging issues early (damaged substrates, clashes, missing materials) to your lead installer

Keeping materials, tools and work areas organised so the crew can work efficiently

Suggesting better ways of doing things when you see them

Working at heights using EWPs, scaffolds and harnesses (sometimes)





Who we’re looking for We want someone who looks at a job and thinks about the whole picture. You understand why a process exists, you follow it, and you speak up when you see a better way. You measure your day by what’s finished and handed over, rather than how busy you were.

You’ll suit this role if you:

Think ahead about what’s needed to finish an area, rather than just the next task

Take ownership of quality and don’t need someone checking behind you

Like having a clear process and are happy to help shape it

Communicate well with your lead installer, the builder and the rest of the crew

Have construction experience, ideally in expansion joints, fire stopping, waterproofing, carpentry or metalwork

Tickets and requirements

White Card (required)

Working at Heights and EWP (Yellow Card), or willing to get them

Current driver’s licence and reliable transport

What we offer

$35-$50/hr, depending on experience

Steady work on major Sydney projects (some regional travel may be required on occasion)

Full training in expansion joint and fire seal systems

All tools are supplied, no need to bring anything except a outstanding attitude and a pair of hands
