About Penbrothers

Penbrothers is an HR & remote talent management partner and one of the fastest-growing companies in the Philippines. We provide talented Filipinos with global opportunities in high-growth startups and dynamic companies, from the comfort of their own homes.

About the Client

Our client is a forward-thinking design studio based in Sydney, Australia, partnering with visionary brands to deliver transformative results. From concept to execution, they create exceptional digital & retail experiences that drive growth, clarity, and long-term impact.

About the Role

We're looking for an exceptional senior designer with a distinctive creative point of view and a typographer's eye. Someone who can translate a brand into a digital experience through type, imagery, composition, motion and interaction, and make every part of that experience work beautifully. You'll bring the judgement to know when a brand needs expressive, unexpected design and when precision and restraint will say more. Your work should feel contemporary, purposeful and specific to the brand.

Working directly with our Founder & Creative Director and our project manager based in the Philippines, you'll own the design of projects from early exploration through to launch, helping shape the creative standard of the studio.

Work Set-up: 100% Work from home

Work Schedule: Early Day Shift - 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM Philippine Time (aligned with Australian Business Hours)

What you'll do (Duties and Responsibilities)

- Develop the creative direction. Take a brief, understand the brand and audience, and propose a compelling visual approach. Bring original ideas, relevant references and a clear rationale.
- Give each brand a typographic voice. Research and select typefaces with intention. Use scale,

contrast, rhythm, spacing and expressive typesetting to build identity and guide the experience across screen sizes.
- Design the complete shopping experience. Connect brand storytelling with intuitive navigation, collection pages, product discovery, product pages and purchase journeys across mobile and desktop.
- Carry the craft into every detail. Make deliberate decisions about hierarchy, imagery, colour and composition. Maintain the quality of the initial concept through every screen, component and interaction.
- Use motion with purpose. Prototype interactions and transitions that express the brand, clarify behaviour and make the experience feel considered.
- Build coherent, flexible systems. Create components and layouts that accommodate real content, varied products and growing catalogues while preserving the design's character.
- Work directly with clients. Present design concepts, explain your recommendations and turn client feedback into clear, considered revisions. Coordinate with our project manager to confirm priorities, communicate changes and keep delivery on track.
- Stay involved through delivery. Work closely with developers, communicate design intent clearly and review the build with care. Resolve practical constraints while protecting what makes the work distinctive.

What You Bring (Skills, Qualifications or Experience)

- Proven senior experience. A substantial body of digital design work, typically built over 5+ years, including strong Shopify ecommerce projects you have helped take live.
- A portfolio with a clear creative point of view. Excellent art direction, confident composition and a distinct response to each brand, supported by thoughtful UX.
- A deep love of typography. You follow leading independent type foundries, keep up with contemporary releases and know the typefaces shaping current studio, editorial and brand work. You can explain why a typeface suits a particular brand and handle pairing, kerning, tracking, leading and responsive typesetting with precision.
- Independent creative judgement. You can interpret an open brief, explore directions, recommend an approach and refine it through thoughtful critique.
- Robust ecommerce understanding. You understand product discovery, merchandising, mobile usability and the details that help customers buy with confidence.
- Advanced design tool skills. Figma and Adobe Illustrator are central to your daily practice. You're highly skilled in Figma, including responsive layouts, components, design systems and interactive prototypes, and in Illustrator for vector work, iconography and brand assets, supported by strong Adobe Creative Cloud skills.
- An established AI workflow. You already use AI tools and apps in your design practice for work such as research, visual exploration, image development, prototyping or production. You can show how they improve your process and how you direct, assess and refine the output to meet a high creative standard.
- Practical delivery knowledge. You understand accessibility, p
